Ugg is an enemy from Q*bert. The character lead to the expression "Ugging the pyramid". Some Q*Bert players competed with the goal of allowing Ugg to dominate the pyramid for as long as possible, keeping a minimum score. "Ugging the pyramid" came to mean intentionally doing a terrible job.
The Toad is a member of the Toad species. He is a loyal attendant of Princess Peach and often assists Mario on his journeys in a variety of ways.
Princess Peach Toadstool is usually the damsel in distress from the Mario franchise. She gets kidnapped frequently by Bowser, though she's not averse to being captured by various other villains from time to time.
Luigi is Mario's brother. He began as a simple palette swap of Mario, but was later differentiated. In his later forays, he provides comic relief.

Larry is the second youngest child of Bowser. He is the self-proclaimed king of eavesdropping.
Morton Koopa Jr. is Bowser's sixth oldest son and a part of the koopalings. Known as Big Mouth Koopa Jr. in The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 & Super Mario World.
A Chinese martial artist and Interpol officer in the Street Fighter series. The "First Lady of Fighting Games," she is a recurring member of the series and was one of the eight original World Warriors of Street Fighter II.
The Green Goblin is Norman Osborn, a businessman and scientist who injected himself with an experimental serum to test it. The serum granted him immense strength, but also drove him insane. He is considered the arch nemesis of Spiderman. He is known for using his glider and pumpkin bombs.
Sam is the green, fireball looking guy without sunglasses in Q*Bert. He hops down the pyramid, changing colors as he goes. Luckily you can stomp on him.

Scorpion is a nemesis of Spider-Man. He was once private investigator Mac Gargan, until J. Jonah Jameson hired him to be the subject of an experiment that gave him immense strength, a costume with a tail that fires lasers, and the deep-down crazies. He was the third Venom.
