    Overview

    Gamewell Callboxes are special phones made to call particular places such as the fire department or the police department. These call boxes made it convenient to call those departments when a phone wasn't accessible. Today they are a lot less common due to increased landline usage and cell phones.

    In video games

    Callboxes when often used in video games are for the player to call up the respective department for information (La Noire) or to trick the police into calling of the manhunt (Destroy All Humans 2).
