Biography
A renowned war hero, known as the Celestial Wolf or the Hero of Goliathe, Galen lost all that was dear to him with the Lord of the Night's resurrection. One day, an army of darkness conquered his homeland of Goliathe through a deadly curse. Half of his troops went insane, while the other half fought amongst themselves in a bloodthirsty frenzy. Clutching the corpse of his daughter Elise after the massacre, Galen swore to defeat the Lord of the Night by his own hands.
The Celestial Wolf then made his way to Orphea, the last kingdom holding out against the Lord of the Night's forces. There, he destroyed a small invasion force near the gates of Orphea Castle before receiving an audience with the kingdom's rulers. Chancellor Zirrick expressed wariness and doubt towards Galen, calling him a 'barbarian' behind his back. But Orphea's princess Sephia, who thought her outnumbered troops needed as much help as possible, welcomed the Celestial Wolf's arrival.
Sephia sent Galen out to places like Verdei and Tramont, former regions of Orphea that fell to the Lord of the Night. The Hero of Goliathe was to eliminate the enemy forces stationed there to activate the shields that these lands' fortresses once had. Doing so would sap the strength of any incoming enemies and keep the surrounding areas safe, if only for a couple of days. These campaigns allowed Galen to encounter the other formidable warriors fighting on behalf of Orphea like Zazi, Levv and Maggni. He also became fast friends with Rinn, a young girl displaced from the conflict in Tramont.
Galen was also partly responsible for foiling an attack on the Crystal Cave, the source of Orphea's water supply. He also made the long journey to the Colunei Canyon to investigate the growing sandstorms that the Lord of the Night's forces were creating. But after realizing that those storms were a diversion for Orphea's army, Galen ran back to confront the monstrous Behemoth near the defenseless Orphea Castle. He slew the foul beast singlehandedly, only to fall into a coma after succumbing to his wounds.
While unconscious, Galen found himself the Twilight Wastelands, a limbo between the real world and the afterlife. There he found Elise, but he had to fight through the Lord of the Night's army to reach her. Both father and daughter were about to go home to reunite with the latter's mother - until Galen somehow heard Rinn's voice warning him of a trap. With little hesitation, he drew his sword against Elise and attacked her, revealing her to be Galdo, a necromancer serving under the Lord of the Night. After disposing of the evil general, Galen managed to free himself from the Twilight Wastelands and return to life.
Galen wakes up to find Orphea Castle finally breached by the Lord of the Night's forces. He fought his way to the castle's throne room, where Sephia and her strongest warriors were fighting the Lord himself. The other combatants fell, but their prior efforts allowed Galen to kill him with his own hands. He also subdued the Orb of Darkness that was responsible for the Lord of the Night's revival in the first place. The orb tempted Galen by proposing to bring back Elise from the dead should Galen defeat it, but the Hero of Goliathe did not take the bait. Instead, he asked the orb to restore the beauty and vitality of the lands formerly conquered by the Lord of the Night.
The Celestial Wolf's story ends with him returning to his homeland of Goliathe. Although his wife and daughter are no longer with him, Galen can still find some closure in his new friends and in his saving the world.
