The G9 Eclipse, or G9 as it can easily be abbreviated to, is one of two fighter jets used by the military forces of Panau during Just Cause 2. It is larger, and more durable than the second of the two jets, which is the Si-47 Leopard. The G9 Eclipse is fitted with four rocket pods, and two Autocannons, making it one of the most well armed vehicles available in the entire game.
The G9 can withstand more damage than the Si-47 Leopard, and is more heavily armed. It also travels faster, though it does have a disadvantage, due to the fact that it is much less manoeuvrable. The sheer firepower of the G9 is almost always a necessity during attacks on oil rigs, as it can take an oil rig down 70% of its health in one or two sweeps. In addition, the firepower of the Eclipse can be turned slightly. However, due to the small amount of turning available, it is almost always better to speed at a target, shooting directly forwards. In addition, unlike the Si-47, when an Eclipse crashes it is destroyed 100% of the time, making it extremely unsafe if you plan to travel at low altitudes.

- Regardless of the condition of a G9, crashing it will always cause it to be destroyed - even if it is on the ground.
- The Eclipse appears to be a composite of different aircraft, though the general consensus is that it is most heavily influenced by the Russian SU-47 Berkut.
