Ridiculous behaviour or how you treat "gamer girls"

In general, girls and games are pretty rare combination.This particular population is increasing,which is a good thing but girls tend to get much more attention than they deserve. Should I care with whom Im playing: male or female - i want to shoot their face equally. This thing grabbed my attention long time ago however I did not want to write about it since I have better things to do with my life,but now I dont.

Yesterday I was watching team fortress 2 "celebrity" showmatch. Idea is simple: get known people to play team fortress, known people from all sort of different sections: starting from Valve developers to famous youtubers. Guess what ? They had special place for gamer girls thus making "gamer girls" special sector of population, making it more priviliged. By making that move, organaiser showed disrespect to loyal fans, male gamers. In principle,girls can not be loyal. I felt inferior. No,I`m just kidding... but I think everyone should be equal. Apparently,they dont think the same way.

Long time ago,when life was not a huge torture,but a journey in hopes of conquering Lineage 2 world I have noticed that manhood showed special attention to people who pretented to be or for real were girls. Either way there is no way they could have known. Helping do quests,giving items etc. Really ? But why ? It is not like you gonna get her to sleep with you. Why bother? Are you that desperate or primitive ? Virtual attention of virtual girl ( who knows who is behind the screen) gonna make your self esteem grow ? Is it going to help to "break ice" in socialisation with opposite gender?

No matter who you are : Megan Fox,Michael Sheen, Lady Gaga in game you are just virtual unit to me. Middle finger in the air if you dont care who are you playing with.

Wait, seriously? They sectioned off a section just for the ladies? The hell? Did somebody tell the event organizers that that's only OK for bathrooms?

Yeah, girl tournaments are a joke. They have done those at major fighting game tournaments before and everyone pretty much agrees that are a joke and basically insulting to females.

Next they'll want the vote or something crazy.

I agree segregation is retarded. Gamers are gamers, regardless of gender, and no member of the community should be seen or treated as anything less, nor should they receive special treatment or attention. Unfortunately, we've still got a ways to go before that's the case, but we'll get there one day.

I care a lot about the people I play with, which is exactly why I hate playing most games online. But I care for their behavior more than anything.

For example, all the people who keep saying things are "retarded" in this thread. They are idiots, or at the very least lazy assholes. I want nothing to do with them.

Also, people who can't be bothered to use even the most basic of grammatical instruments when they are posting on threads. I hate that they cared so little about what they were writing to bother with something so simple, yet still felt the need to spew it out into the public.

All that being said, both men and women can be worthless idiots. People can be whoever they want when they are online, but people should be treated based on the content of their character and their actions rather than any other label we might offer them.

I did now touch morale dimension, just gender. Of course,if we want to get more deeper into this stuff we should create some basic principles those would help to part more specific groupsbut lets leave how it is.

Yeah, it's pretty sad that gender segregation stills exists. I keep on having to look at a calender to remind myself that I'm in the 21st century sometimes. I've personally never treated females differently from males. Gender shouldn't define anyone.

It reminds me of a lot of those Youtube/twitter/facebook "girl gamers" who are famous for the mere reason that they play games and they're female. I really don't understand why this segregation needs to exist or why the girls themselves would want to support it.

Yeah, I can see why they may want to avoid playing online with certain people, the way they're treated is downright appalling at times.. but I don't see how this is any better.

Would rather play video games with some girl rather than RandomGuy McShitForBrains who keeps talking about how he likes to fuck chicks up the ass with his massive dick.  
So that's what I chose to do. then again they're girls I know in real life and so are most of the guys I play games with too.

I thought the whole reason gamer girls insist on posting provocative photos of themselves and starting every post with "as a girl who plays games I think" was because they want to feel special. Putting them all into a group just defeats the purpose of their existence.

Really though I hate this stupid little distinction based on genders but I guess when it does get to the level of mainstream celebrities being involved, things will degenerate to that level.

Im not going to lie, and say that i have never treated some one differently just because of their gender. But I try my hardest not to. but there is a double standard, i wont go into it wholly, but woman want men to hold the door for them, there purse for them, and pay for diner. but at the same time they want to have equal rights, and thats bull shit.

Honestly, it seems to boil down to the age group of the people you're playing with more than anything. That's not to say that someone in their mid twenties or thirties can't be as much of a pathetic f*ckwad as most teenagers, but in my own personal experience, that seems to be the case. Not saying all teenagers are terrible people, and to be fair to ALL males, it's the ones that make the most noise that tend to give the entire community a bad reputation.

Yes, segregation is stupid, as is the "girl gamer" thing. But unfortunately there's always a hand full of people in a group that will make it their job, for whatever reason, to be the abrasive and dickish. As a result, people like myself just choose to either not use their mic on XBL, or not play it at all and stick to a group of friends via Skype while we game.

I dno if treat them differently but I imagine most people treat girls differently because these are special girls, girls you have something in common with. I imagine that when I get married I will be complaining about politics with my wife but i'm still clinging to that slight chance we might be talking about games!

The word gamer is fucking stupid.

I would rather play against female gamers because they are less likely to call me a "fag". Instead of segregating the ladies we should instead be segregating the the asshats regardless of what gender they are.

Exactly. I don't think that was segregated to keep the girls from mixing in with the boys, but because most women probably don't want to subjugate themselves to the traditional pricks (i.e.: your definition of "loyal" fans) and the harassment they deal in.

Same reason we see other social groups. Be it a religious club or an ethnicity club. It's not about saving whitey, but about keeping the overly vocal idiots away from constructive conversation.

dont understand why you need to devide the genders, women are not frail with a weak mind that wil burst in to tears as soon as someone says anything to them. im sure there intentions were good and all but just kick out people who were being sexist or discriminating and so on. some people are just assholes but still thats not the majority.
