The Great Debate of Our Time: X or Cross?

It's cross. It's always been cross. But I say X and always will. I'm fine with being wrong about tome things.

I call it an "X" but it can create some confusion with the Xbox "X" in discussions at times and would switch to "Cross" if it didn't feel so unnatural at this point.

To me, out of "+" and "X", "X" is the cross and "+" is the plus. From the UK.

I can't find the original tweet but someone posted "If you call X 'Cross' then I'm going to assume you call the other 3 buttons 'Box' 'Pizza' and 'Roundabout'" which mildly amused me.

If you call X 'X' then i'm going to assume you call the other buttons Zero, A and Oh :)

It's cross... technically. The reasoning being the other buttons are symbols not letters.

But I call it x, and I will not stop.

You cna have all teh scholarly reasons you want, but at this point calling something a cross (+) with they symbol for negation and "X" is never going to catch on. Maybe, we are lucky they didn't just put ♠♣♥♦ or ≈ ≠ ═ ≡
