The "Can't remember the name of this game" Thread v3.0
As for the game, those are not it. This was either a beat-em-up or the characters fired projectiles of some sort at enemies (for the era, boomerang like weapons are probably likely). The m and f characters looked completely different, maybe anime inspired.
Considering when I knew the guy I played with this couldn't have taken place ater than 1995 if that helps.
Thanks for your effort still.
ScubaVenture - Kinda submarine like, need air fire at fish....
Sink or Swim - There is a yellow submarine .....and yea.
The first one is not even close, but the second one hits when it comes to the graphics. Pretty sure those are very close, but it's not the right game. It was underwater all of it, except the slight surfacing to get air.
I'll just be at peace never finding it again, so no need to work too hard trying to find it. You have tried really hard so far, and I really appreciate it.
It really must be obscure, maybe it'd be easier to just find the guy and ask him ^^
Sorry, the game had a lot fewer colors and was pretty dark, as I've mentioned the character were basically drawn with a single color (Blue/Red).
I'm going to make an effort to find it myself, thanks for helping though :)
Is it either

or
IK+ International Karate Plus
If the dude in this thread ever leaves his question here the answers SIN Episodes: Emergence.
If that isn't it do you have any memory of what other games were on the disc?
Ok, I've got another one, probably a bit easier this time around.
It was a game for the original Playstation and you played as a anthromorphic tiger. You fought similar looking anthromorphic lepards and probably other cats as well. The tiger wore only pants and fought using martial arts, I'm pretty sure there was a Yin Yang symbol in there somewhere as well. I guess it must have been a beat-em-up because I seem to remember the camera being in a fixed perspective (It was a 3D game).
The environments were jungle-y.
Never played more than the demo myself but always thought his design was pretty awesome. Thanks!
Game came out on PC (possible came to PSN aswell, I know for sure didn't come to XBLA) I can confidently say it came out in 2010. You control 3 players, you can switch back and forth on the fly. Dude with a sheild, woman(?) with a whip? and a mage? maybe. Side scrolling puzzle platforming game.
Can remember the game name.
A few tips I found to help you describe the game
- A guess of what year the game could have come out on (it's not useful to say "when I was a kid" if we don't know how old you are)
- A guess of what platform the game is on (even if you don't remember what console, at least say it wasn't on PC, and guess the generation)
- What genre the game is in (again, even if you don't know exactly, you can probably rule some out or be broad like "action")
- If you or others or general public thought the game was any good, how good/bad/colorful were the graphics, music, etc
- Who the intended audience of the game is (kids, casual gamers, movie franchise fans, etc)
i dont really know when the game was released but i played it in 2005/2006 but i think its arround those years
it was a pc game ( id dont know what do you mean whith generation, sorry)
the game was a mix of RPG and Strategy ( you controled a hero in which you could put itens, armor, wepons, etc but you also had the possebility to build buildings, train units, collect resourses. much like warcraft 3)
the game was good whith graphics like the ones on gothic 2 but alittle more detailed, but the view was like the one on a strategy game,
viewed from above , slightly tilted
thats all i can remenber for now,
PS: sorry for my bas english
Spellforce: The Order of Dawn
There was a game boy colour game that was an RTS set in a fantasy setting. I think it had a really generic sounding name, but I loved the hell out of it. I can't remember much else about it.
EDIT: Found it. It was called Warlocked.
Going through my old crap in the loft last week I found my old Sega Saturn. I was thinking of all the games I had for it; Fighting Vipers, Golden Axe The Duel, Virtua Cop, Virtua Fighter 2, Panzer Dragoon 2 and The Legend of Oasis. All classics i'm sure you'll agree. I can vaguely remember one game but for the life of me I can't recall it's name.
- You controlled a spaceship it was an aerial combat game similar to the boss sections of starfox 64.
- Fully 3D
- You collected different combinations of gems to get different weapons. Air to Surface missiles, Air to Air missles are the only ones I can remember but i think there was a laser as well.
- I remember it being devilishly difficult but that could have just been the mad skills of my younger self.
Can anyone give me a hand here? I'm racking my brains trying to think of it.
This below is the 3DO version which shows the gems you mentioned. (1.22)
Edit: Theresonlyone messaged me saying StarFighter 3000 was correct.
" @Damien1: I remember this game too. Had to do some searching but I remembered the name pretty quickly. If you or anyone else is still interested I believe what you seek is one of the Drakojan Skies-games: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/258082. Hope that helps. "Damien1 left that question a month ago and hasn't been active since so I doubt he will reply. I had a go at the game and it's pretty obvious you're right so good job :)
I remember a game being on the NES or SNES don't know what year it was in the 90s, I only had the Japanese version(it may have been japanese exclusive) it was a sidescroller in which you controlled a boy with a sword(it may have been a stick) and I think he had a large head you could use the sword to wall jump, he would also bounce vertically on the sword like a pogo stick and I think the game had a water level and while underwater you couldn't attack (but I may be wrong about this), for me it looked amazing and it was really fun to play. The walljump was kind of fun cause you would jump press the attack button(I think) while facing the wall he would put the tip of the sword against the wall and screech down the wall and when you released the attack button he would jump in a cool animation. I know it wasn't a hard game cause I finished it multiple times.
- Any idea on location?
- Was it a straight up side scroller beat em ups with a sword like Sengoku or was it one of those beat em up/rpg hybrids like Shodai - Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun?
- What did the boy look like and did you mean big head like this?
Oh and you asked about location, I don't remember exactly, I know for sure it wasn't in a urban environment and it had a lot of variety, water level lava level sky level, I'm not 100% I could be thinking of Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu (the Japanese version)when I think of the location, I guess it was similar to that too but that doesn't have a sword you can jump on like a pogo-stick.
This is a Sega-CD game. It was an FMV game that took place in a mansion, I believe. It took place in the first-person and had an emphasis on puzzles. It had a super-natural storyline and I believe there were ghosts. It took place at night. I played it as a child so I don't remember much about it. I rented it and beat it which means it had to have been pretty short.
Alright, I played this one game demo back on the PS1 era and it was a 2D sidescroller/puzzler about a pair of builders with hammers and You could pull out a vaccum cleaner as well. You could whack one of the builders to make him short and be able to crawl through spaces, and throw each other to other heights. I'm sorry I can't think of any more hints! Anyone got any idea?
