@bartok: You have excellent taste, and could not be more correct in your selection.
Who is your dream Bombcast Guest?
Ryan MacDonald formerly of GameSpot. He was one of the originals along with Jeff and Greg Kasavin and he has almost never appeared on GiantBomb content. Through QL Crew I was able to find out that he was on a quick look of one game that I somehow hadn't seen. That's it, I believe. I don't think he has ever been on the bombcast either. It's sad because he was always a kind of behind the scenes guy, but he would show up on GameSpot content often enough that you started to really enjoy his personality.
I already gave my dream guest earlier but I think in general the Bombcast would benefit from getting more business and technically minded people on as guests to kind of demystify and/or bring some context to things about game production that we don't necessarily get from designers or PR people. People like Dave Lang for the attitude and entertainment he always brings but I thought this last Bombcast with him was particularly interesting because it got a bit more into his actual line of work. I imagine it can be tricky to find someone with those skills who is also engaging on a mic but think it would be cool or at least different.

Could not agree more, ever since GB launched I've been expecting Ryan Mac to show up somewhere and yet have never seen him. I had absolutely no idea he'd featured on a Quick Look, I must've missed it. It sounds like him and Jeff have some yarns they could spin us.
Kyle Bosman on an E3 show would be cool.
They should get Seth Rogan when that Sega/Nintendo movie comes out.
Carrie Gouskos! She was awesome during the old Gamespot days and the few times she's been on during E3 or GDC streams.
The guy from clueless gamer, that plays with Conan.
Yes, bring in Aaron Bleyaert. He probably has some great stories to tell. Also, he's a big nerd, so what can go wrong really.
Me.
I'd want to sit in on a Bombcast.
That's the first thought that popped into my head when I read the thread title. I'm surprised it took 71 posts before anyone else said it.
@jacksukeru: there's only room for one me. and that's ME.
Lorne Lanning.
I came here to say this. He was a guest on a past live show this year (E3?) and it was fantastic listening to his thoughts on VR, programming and the game industry as a whole.

Yeah she was a great guest! I guess she is too busy for hijinks these days?
I'd love some more Jeff Green. He has some great views on things and always seems to be a great laugh.
Michael Pachter. Has he been on before? He's engaging on his podcast/video series, and someone who swims in financial numbers and stats all day will likely have some good conversation on the topic.
Any developer on the low-level side of console development. Such as someone from the naughty Dog's ICE or Mark Cerny or someone involved in the architecture design of the X1.
I just want Dave Lang on every podcast really.
Totally this! He gives great insight into the business end of things.
@bartok: Huh. I didn't think PFT would be able to talk knowledgeably about games but I guess you proved me wrong.
Given he's a busy showbiz guy, I think he'd be best suited to an all-emails podcast, or the PAX wrestling thing. Basically anything that excludes a "whatcha been playing" segment.
Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin of Camposanto/Idle Thumbs. WWE Superstar Xavier Woods, otherwise known as Youtube sensation Austin Creed. As much as I'd like the McElroys to guest on the Beastcast, I'd prefer for them to invite Vinny on a Wonka tour of the Polygon Monster Factory.
Revised List
- Jim Sterling
- Adam Sessler
- Kyle Bossman
- Jessica Chobot
- Greg Miller & Colin Moriarty
- Jeff Green
- Justin, Travis & Griffin McElroy
- Brianna Wu
- Kevin Pereira
- Veronica Belmont
The mistake people make is wanting a CEO and Vice President of a huge company on the show. Those people cannot say anything substantive, nor can they really say what they think about other games or other companies.
