The Giant Bombcast: Live and In Color, Starting July 26, 2016

Not sure I like the idea of peeling back the curtain and revealing how the magic is done. I might check out one or two, but chances are I'm going to stick with the podcasts as they're the most convenient for my lifestyle.

It's like watching a cutscene from a Command & Conquer game. Every now and then glances and gestures in my direction. You are the Drew. It could be a VR experience.

I vote for them to keep it in.

I'm looking forward to it, but I'm also a little nervous. I used to be really into the Rooster Teeth podcast, until they went video. Listening to it became so boring and at times confusing because they immediately switched to being visually focused. But it does sound like you guys are taking all that into consideration so I'm intrigued!

This is a neat idea, but podcasts are very much a commute-fuel for me and I don't think I'll have the time or desire to watch the video formats. It's still great for those who do want more video content.

Now I understand why Drew is always the least active in the podcasts. He's on double duty there!

The dream is to have the Beastcast Skype in to the Bombcast, and vice-versa. VODCasts is an awesome idea!

This is rad. I'll probably still keep listening to the audio version, too - after all, I tend to listen to the show at least twice during the week. But this is going to be on at a pretty perfect time for me to catch it live here in the UK.

It's going to be fun to actually watch certain cool moments that happened on the podcast after listening to it.

The GOTY stuff will also be a treat, aside from that I'll stick to the audio versions.

By the way: Drew/Jason/whoever will be the video guy every week should not have to pay that much attention to camera switches etc., if it leads to them not being able to take part in the conversation the way they used to. I'd rather not have this at all then.

Totally agree with this. I'd much rather have Drew talking than focusing on camera switches.

@maynza: Jeff said the podcast normally has five people instead of four for this reason, since one of them will need to focus on the video side of things.

Although I may not watch these live, as the Bombcast is usually my driving podcast of choice, I am very excited about the inevitable GOTY video podcasts!

Having a Video Podcast is cool and all, but is this really the 439th episode ?

This is awesome.

I love that you guys are doing this! But, as a former cameraman, I have some thoughts:
- Get the two people shots tighter (zoom in, more people - less background)
- Put the camera for the three people shot way up higher (less Drew-POV)
- Push back Drew-Cam and put it at the same height as the two people shots
- Make the lights on the wall less purple (doesn't go well with the red table), either light blue/teal or go full on green
- Switch cameras less often (let a shot breath for a couple of seconds, you don't need see who's talking at all times)

I get the feeling I'll probably catch the video Bombcast if there's a special guest or something. I'll still continue to listen to the audio Bombcast as I've always done.

I like that Drew has his own camera, so it still looks like you keep him in a closet somewhere.

I don't get it. Why would someone want to watch an audio podcast? If I tried this, I would probably crash into the car in front of me.

@rusalkagirl: Yeah, time zones. This'll be showing at 9pm over here and that's ideal for me.

I can do with just a regular podcast, but this is a fun idea. I've often enough wanted to see the crew's expressions during some of the classic moments.

This is interesting and I will check it out. I always listen to the Bombcast while I'm working out, so I probably wont watch it much, but I'm glad GB is still trying new things.

Cool. I wanted this years ago but now not so much..I usually listen to the podcast while playing something..but I might watch it sometimes.

Awesome though I hope this doesn't go the way of beyond where they start talking about visual things because I won't have time to watch these. Sticken with the audio

Seems like a smart idea that will appeal to many. Its worked well for Tested. I normally listen to the audio only replay while at the gym. Nice to see you raising the bar and trying new stuff.

@draltor: I commute on mass transit and so do other people. I can see myself watching on the bus ride home because I need to relax.
