Shameless cash grab, save your money
Someone on another site said it best: This is $48 worth of in-app purchases looking for a game.
I saw the preview video after the teaser site went live and I was kind of excited. It seemed like a neat little battle system that surely had more to it than the gameplay they showed in the video. Turns out I was half right. The more to it is the ability to spent more money. However, there is nothing more on the substance side of things.
This is not a game. you tap the screen a bunch and wait for bar to fill then touch the screen again. Granted there are over 10 different parts of the screen to touch. Each with their own bar filling up readying to be touched again. It's not fun, not even as a "time waster". There's nothing to bite onto here. The initial cost in 3.99, and if you want other beloved backgrounds from other final fantasy games you have to pay. I know this is nothing new on the iPad, but unlike games where you pay to extend the fun. In this screen touching encourager you pay to change the art you click on, and maybe have some effect on the meaningless number that pops up after clicking on this art.
Let me say that the one nice thing this app has is the art. I've always loved pixel art and enjoyed some final fantasy games in the past, and I won't lie seeing the animations from the black mage or fighter was fun the first time. It's a shame those animations go to total waste on this complete piece of shit.
They want your money and they make no attempt to hide it. Please people, vote with your dollar, or in this case DON'T vote with your dollar. Don't let a brand company get away throwing their brand on a piece of shit and trying to sell it to you.
If you must play this game then do me a favor don't pay for it. "Pirate it" by doing the following:
- Download the youtube video of the game
- Hit play on this video
- Randomly tap on the right side of the screen where the tiny characters are.
You have now essentially played all that Final Fantasy: All the Bravest has to offer..
