Have the next ten days off and it's 40% off on Steam right now, but given @vinny's issues in that stream he did, I am hesitant to purchase a broken mess. I like to play with a controller, and have the following hardware:

AMD FX-8350

GTX 760 (2 GB)

Does FC4 still shit the bed when you plug in a controller?

I thought those issues only happened when streaming, which really makes it a streaming pile.

Haven't tried with a controller to see if there's any issues with that. Runs fine on my 8350 and 970. I shall test it soon (tomorrow?).

I played the entire thing with a controller and it ran perfectly fine. The only issue I ran into was when the game wouldn't load a cut scene and I had to tab out and back in. My machine at the time was an i7-920 and GTX 550TI.

You need to remember that Vinny's CPU is super old. That being said it's a reasonably demanding game (although i'm not sure the performance is always justified). Also the game just sort of gets boring after a while, I just kind of stopped playing it.

I've never had any problems with it on PC. Maybe it conflicts with certain hardware but theoretically you should be able to run it at decent settings perfectly fine.

Though for me it ran fine from the get go.

I was doing just fine after the latest patch.. but the Dunia 2 engine is still crap and loads textures in the most horrendous manner I've seen to date yet, which turns me off from playing it.

Played the whole game on PC with a DS4. I only ran into one bug in the entire game- I was doing a hostage rescue mission and sniped a guy with a bow and arrow. He flew 30 feet in the air and came crashing down, alerting everyone in the area. I didn't even care, I was laughing too hard.

Basically, some people have experienced gamebreaking bugs, others haven't. It doesn't seem to be a broken game, but a few people have had some major issues with it. Seems like Vinny was unlucky.

Ok, I just know that a friend who has almost the exact same set up as me, only with a 770, can rarely even get to the main menu before the game crashes. Was mainly wondering how prevalent that was.

I played the whole thing with a 360 pad with no real game-breaking technical issues. But I did have some annoying problems: the vsync stutter was always awful for me the second it dropped below 60 (worst I've ever seen), and without vsync there was this constant microstutter jitter thing. I just could not get that game to display smoothly, even when it was clearly running at a consistent 60fps.

Uh no it runs fine, controller has always worked well from day one for me. Make sure to update your drivers and direct X and you should be good to go.

It just felt too similar for me. Like I'd been there and shot that once before.

I never ran into a single issue, much like 99% of people who played it.

I've had zero issues on my 7970ghz using an xbox 360 controller.

I was actually wondering the same thing. I had so a ton of issues getting Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon to run decently on my computer. Each time i would figure out how to fix one problem it would cause something else to go wrong.

I played it on the PC in December, and for the most part, it was fine. Didn't experience anything that Vinny experienced.

Hey, I know this is an old-ish thread but I just wanted to chime in.

I've had the game for a few weeks now and had no real technical issues. Performance is about the same that I had with Far Cry 3, maybe a bit better. So far, it runs great. I play with mouse and keyboard but I constantly have a controller plugged in and it didn't cause any problem.

I'm using a GTX 770 and a overclocked i7 920 at 3.2 GHz with 12 GB of RAM.

The only problem I have is that I play on a 16:10 monitor (1920x1200) and even thought the game has an option for 16:10 aspect ratios, it still letterboxes it to a 16:9 ratio. At first, it drove me nuts but I got used to it. It's still kind of a bummer.

Never had a problem with it using a controller, still currently playing it and can confirm it works as intended.

This game is $23 with GCU at Best Buy for all consoles this week, PC included. Probably an Origin install.

It worked great at launch, works great now.

Also AMDFX... not cool bro, bottle neck right there.
