Eric Peterson started out his career in video games at Origin Systems working on titles such as, Wing Commander 3, Wing Commander 4 (as the voice of 'Primate'), Ultima IX: Ascension, Privateer 2 (the unpublished version prior to it being renamed Privateer 2: The Darkening), and StarLancer.
Eric then joined Chris Roberts departing from Origin to co-found Digital Anvil and spent approximately 5-6 years in the company. Eric Peterson played a pivotal role in establishing the company's relationship with Microsoft after sending an email to Bill Gates informing him of the merits of Chris Roberts' successful titles. Incidentally, this email was the result of a joke conversation with Chris at a dinner the night before.
Once the company was eventually sold to Microsoft, Eric decided to move on to form his own company called Fever Pitch Studios with Tom Mauer to work on Conquest: Frontier Wars. Fever Pitch Studios was then bought out by Warthog PLC and at this point Eric became the company head for Warthog's US publishing operations.
When Gizmondo collapsed after buying Warthog, Eric took a small break before coming back into games development to form a small independent company called Peezocker Inc. which began a crowdfunding campaign to create a sequel to Conquest called Conquest 2 Vyrium Uprising. This project was canceled when Eric was invited by Chris Roberts to rejoin him on his latest kickstarter project Star Citizen.
Eric, known as 'Wingman' to the Star Citizen community, became a very public figure for Cloud Imperium Games as the host of the development teams' weekly video segment called Wingman's Hangar which detailed the ongoing development of the successfully crowd-funded game.
In 2014 he departed Cloud Imperium Games to form Descendent Studios and begin work on the crowdfunding project Descent: Underground - a 6DOF space combat game set in the Descent universe.
