Overview
Enoch, the protagonist of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, is a man so virtuous and pure of heart that he was admitted to Heaven by God while still alive, serving there as a scribe. He is jostled from his duties when he takes off in an attempt to save mankind from a great flood by capturing those who have turned against God. Enoch is based on the central figure of the Book of Enoch, an ancient religious text that is not considered part of biblical canon by the majority of modern Judeo-Christian sects. He is also the great-grandfather of Noah, and it is said that he became the Metatron; the one who serves as the voice of God to those incapable of hearing God's true voice without dying.
