I thought the L.A. Raiders were the team? My god I see what you mean about deep dish pizza, that thing looks incredible. Must plan another trip to the States.
E3
Concept »
The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) was a video game industry trade show held annually since 1995. It was usually held in the late spring or early summer in Los Angeles, California.
Nope, E3 Isn’t Leaving Los Angeles

Deep dish pizza isn't a pizza.I agree with this statement.
If you guys really need to alter the definition of "pizza" so that you can continue to tell yourself that your hometown's pizza is the best, you go right ahead.
That's a darn shame. I definitely would have made my way out there if it was in Chicago (I'm in Indianapolis). Plus, Deep Dish Pizza is the best. Oh well...
Can't wait for my uncle to send me some pizza this Christmas. If we're really lucky, he'll also send Italian beef.
I need some deep dish now.

We don't do pizza in the south... I put Deep Dish in the same vein as Lasagna.

Sucks to be you I guess.
That deep dish pizza is beautiful and horrifying at the same time.
And I suppose I'm glad to hear this, as I've been able to actually attend the last 3 years. Part of me is getting tired of it all though, and was I was hoping for an excuse to not go. It's a whole lot of waiting in line for games that are way too "broad appeal" for my liking anymore. Next year should be a lot more interesting at least.
That pizza reminds me of something from Man vs Food. It probably has enough calories to start its own space exploration program as well.
Patrick Klepek The next time you're in L.A. give Hollywood Pies on Robertson a shot. Their pizzas are as close to Chicago as you're going to get around here.
Man, you have to think the people of Chicago took the phrase pizza-pie too much to heart. I'm sure they mean well, but Chicago style pizza makes me want to retch.
Los Angeles still doesn’t have a football team yet, of course.
hhhmmm I can't recall the last time I've seen the words 'still' and 'yet' in the same sentence. I can't figure out what the hell it means! what does this sentence mean? i think paraphrases to "still doesn't yet have". damn you klepek
edit: ah okay nvm I think i get it
Never having been to the midwest, I havent had "deep dish pizza" or whatever that thing is called. It looks like you need a fork or something, removing the convenience of pizza :<
Far as E3's location? *shrug* Lots of major cities have been able to work construction around major annual events before.

I love a good deep dish, but it's extremely hard to come by outside of Chicago. Or even in Chicago for that matter. Everyone thinks they can do it, and nobody wants to make a real thing because it takes the better part of an hour.
Actually had decent deep dish in St. Paul Minnesota. Agreed though. Very rare.
I wish it would come to Philadelphia one year. The two years the X-Games came to philly were fuckin epic
I'm absolutely enamored with pizza and while I would not reject a deep dish pizza if I was offered one, I have to admit deep dish pizza is in the lower tier of pizzas.

Co-sign. If it helps at all, the best pizza I ever had in the greater LA area is Bruno's in Santa Monica.

I'll be in Chi town next week for a wedding. Where is the best place to go to get the real deal deep dish? I also want to try the thin crust bar style they cut into squares. Also a italian beef sandwich. Damn I'm hungry......
Giordano's, Lou Malnati's, or Gino's East, in that order. I prefer Giordano's, but plenty of people swear by Lou Malnati's, too. We do cut our thin crust into squares. Fox's, Barraco's, Palermo's, Roseangelo's, and Beggars are all brands I swear by, but you're probably okay wherever you go.
Al's Italian Beef is the "famous" Italian Beef place, but I think Portillo's is best (and they LOVE it on the Bombcast). Portillo's is the best place for hot dogs and Maxwell Street Polish, too.
