@mbradley1992: I don't think it's unfair to expect a huge leap in graphic fidelity from the old consoles. It's disheartening looking at games on the new consoles compared to their PC ports. Wish they would have built these consoles to last for a while. Way I see it, they won't have nearly as long a lifespan as the previous generation.

Oh, and Red Dead Redemption probably is the best looking game on the old consoles.

Edit: By the way I bought Sleeping Dogs on PS4 today, and the frame rate is so bad that I don't want to keep playing. That fucking sucks.

i think the sooner they stop making games with their feet in both generations, the sooner we'll start seeing some even better games for these new boxes and PC's. Trying to tell a developer in 2014 make a graphically impressive game and shove it onto a DX9 based hardware with an extremely limited amount of ram is making beds in a burning house and is not doing anything to make games better.

On a related note, I'm morbidly curious to find out how the last-gen versions of Shadow of Mordor will turn out, especially considering that they were outsourced to a developer who's last project was a SpongeBob game.

Sounds like great news to me. My PS4 is ready. I'm sure they bumped up some settings now that they don't need to worry about last gen.

On the less cynical side, we could assume the past gen versions were going to be delayed anyways and they hadn't made progress in months. On the more cynical side, they continue to use 'Next gen' as a phrase, so I'm calling this Bad Techland.

It's no secret that the next gen games are already pushing new consoles to their limits, ditching the dead weight from last gen consoles is a no brainer.

Now just give me something special for the PC version.

Probably a good call but one that should have been made months ago. Now they've wasted effort on versions of the game that will never see the light of day.

Good News everyone.

It is time to put the old consoles aside and start playing the kinds of games that only the new ones can play. I understand that not everyone has the money to upgrade to a new machine but there is already an extensive back catalogue for both the 360 and PS3, we need to move forward or every game will continue feel exactly like the previous one.

The old consoles were already around too long. Best for everyone to start moving forward. There's still a huge library of games for people that aren't ready to move on to current gen or PC. Let's look forward, not backward. I know there are a lot more last gen consoles out there, and publishers want to continue tapping that market, but it's not until we break that connection that game will advance.
