Any idea if it runs on windows 7 64 bit?
Is it worth getting the combo for $5 or should i just go with the original? I've never played either...but judging by my steam purchase record, even if i buy this i still never will.
They had this sale not too long ago...
Regardless, if you didn't buy it then, buy it now.
@Bobdaman18: I got it working with W7 64-bit, but it may take some "fixes." Or not. It's kind of random, I think.

For me it ran out of the box (so to speak) but some people have to tweak it a bit.
suffice to say 99% of people on win 7 64 can play it.
I played the demo, it was honestly a really tough game, I got slaughtered, i'm not buying it.
Edit: i'm doing good now, I am ducking more and i'm invisible practically.
Just wanted to post this here :). Deus Ex is one of the really famous games I just never got around palying, now i add it to my

" Go buy this or you'll make baby JC Denton cry. "Every time you say " Dues EX" someone re installs it.
I actually missed Deux Ex. I guess I was busy with HL, RE and Diablo at the time.
Now, to buy or not to buy? I have too many games sitting around already that I haven't had much time for, and I don't know if I should add even more to the list. I was trying to cure my sales addiction, but dammit this isn't helping.
What do you guys think? The first Deus Ex, both or neither?

Everyone buy the first Deus Ex, at least.
Once you get past the first mission, more than likely you'll be completely addicted, continuing to play to see the next piece of the conspiracy puzzle.
" @HitmanAgent47: Do you know any good graphical mods? I hear a lot of good things about this series However, with the screenshots, I don't know if it will hold up even on a high resolution, which may cause me to ignore the game after playing a few minutes (same thing happened when I bought Indigo Prophecy a few months back). "Shame on you. Passing on this game just because of how it looks.
" @SlasherMan said:How long would you say the games are? I already have to go through 4 RPGs that I haven't yet had the time for, not to mention the rest of the games I've bought but haven't played. On the Steam forum for Deus Ex there's a guide to graphics mods.

Yeah, it's a liitle over complicated. I'd just get the DX 10 rendere, and that dxfix thing to get widescrren hugh resolutions with an attractive hud.
" @august said:Going through Morrowind now and everyone said get mods. But I honestly feel like it takes away from the game to change it at all. And hell, i'm enjoying it a ton with its old graphics, which, imo, have aged BEAUTIFULLY, considering its 8 fucking years old." @defaulttag said:But its a hassle. And the game is perfect how it is. Never played Deus Ex, but how do you not buy what is considered one of the best games of all time?
Especially with Human Revolution around the corner, which looks great.
" Everyone buy the first Deus Ex, at least. Once you get past the first mission, more than likely you'll be completely addicted, continuing to play to see the next piece of the conspiracy puzzle. "HOW DO YOU MAKE IT NOT BLACK? Seriously, those gamma sliders aren't working.
I have a question, is it worth getting the pack? I heard invisible war is sometimes considered as crap and not real Deus Ex, but is there story continuation? Should I buy the game? Hell on steam it has an 80% rating. Guys?
Are there are graphics mods? I've always wanted to play this game, but it's just so ugly.
EDIT: Nevermind, I apparently can't read.
Does the game hold up today? I mean maybe it was good before, I still died again at the demo and I simply don't like it compared to all the games i've played today.
I'm sure there are ppl in this thread who thinks it's the best game ever, I am not seeing that at all.
If I use a graphics mod, will I be able to use 1080p? so far I can only select X1050. Also I hope the graphical mod will improve the animation, it's the worst looking animation i've ever seen in a game before. Maybe I should buy a copy of the game and not play it until way later. Then again I might be wasting my money considering I didn't enjoy the demo.
anybody with an answer?

" @CowMuffins: Have you tried changing renderers in the graphics options? Alternately if you have a dx10 capable card there's a special renderer you can download for it, just google a bit. "I like how all the walls looked like your graphics card sucks. Its got a certain charm
" anybody with an answer? It does continue the story in some sort-of interesting ways by the end, but just about everything about it, from characters to story presentation to level design to combat is a pretty serious step down, making it kinda hard to recommend. Basically just concentrate on the first one, then if you're really jonesing to see where the story goes, buy #2.

Okay EVERYONE SHOULD BE USING THIS: http://kentie.net/article/dxguide/
The extras are extras, of course, but getting the resolution and gui good and proper on your probably-widescreen monitor is important.

I totally bought it and I have never played the game before so hopefully I'll like it. If not oh well I got it for super cheap.
Yes, keep this posted so that those whov'e never played the game or want it back can get it. Hopefully it will be a primer for the 2nd game. Rather oudated visual.. Weapons can suck. Still a King among Video games. I know this comes off beatan to bloody death and I do apologize, but oh my for this kind of attention for SystemShock 2. It will probably never occur, and younger gamers will never experience one of the best Top Tier Evile Bosses ever virtually created, Shodan. When Shodan finally announces herself in-game, and howshe does it, I knew it was genious.
Ah fuck it, i'm just going to buy it so it's there, not sure if I even want to play it, however it's there at least even if I hate the demo. I'm right on the fence, however almost going to buy it, I have a few hours to decide at least. It's 50/50.
