Overview
David Beckham made a name for himself playing for English club Manchester United from 1993 to 2003. In the summer of 2003, he completed a high profile transfer from Manchester United to Spanish club Real Madrid. In the summer of 2007, he made the move from Europe to the United States to play for the LA Galaxy. In early 2009, he was on loan to AC Milan in Italy. In November of 2009, the L.A. Galaxy made it to the Major League Soccer Cup Finals, which they lost in a penalty shoot-out. He returned to play for AC Milan for the rest of the 2009-2010 season.
On March 14, 2010, Beckham tore his Achilles tendon while playing for AC Milan. He underwent a successful surgery to repair the damage, but rehabilitation will take months and he will miss the World Cup in June. He returned to the LA Galaxy to play part of the 2010 MLS season after he recovered from the
Achilles tendon injury.
International Career
David Beckham made his debut for England in 1996. He was a regular in the team until becoming captain in 2000. Although he is no longer the captain, he still is regularly part of the squad, and currently has the most career appearances for England after surpassing Bobby Moore in March 2009.
