I'm guilty of this, and you've probably done it in previous Dark Souls games, too. You've just stumbled upon an armor piece that accents your existing character's build. Perhaps its physical defenses mitigate hardy attacks, or its elemental resistances ensure poison or fire is a non-factor, or it keeps your equipment load below the cutoff for fat rolling.

But it just doesn't match your gauntlets, leggings, chest piece, or helm, so it goes in the bottomless storage box, never to be touched again.

That's Fashion Souls at its core, and with the arrival of Dark Souls III -- packed to the brim with foreign and familiar armor sets alike -- it's time to class up our heroes once more.

I love that you can now wear four weapons at once.

These hammers are SO good in PVP, especially against anyone using a shield - which is most players, at least right now. I'm going for the intimidating look.

I haven't really found much good light armour yet

I love using the biggest gauntlets and legs in these games. In DS2 my guy literally had elephant legs. I'm still looking for some big legs.

I have my gripes with this game, but it sure ain't the fashion. Currently enjoying the hell out of this weird miscolored (pants could use some work) swordsman-esque-but-not-really look. Quickstep for life.

@mike: The maracas are a prime choice.

I've been going for the ratty hollowed look on my PvP character so no fashion here. I love the Thrall hood though.

Also Sacred Flame is the best new spell in the game.

I find the fastest way to acquire Sunlight Medals is to look as ridiculous and badass as possible.

I'm just here to voice my discontent with the lack of Gwyndolin head gear in the game. The boss is wearing it game, so just give it to me!

Cathedral Knight Helm, Drang Armor, Morne's Gauntlets, Cathedral Knight Leggings, Executioner's Greatsword

That's actually not my main weapon, I have been using the Lothric Knight Sword for most of the game up until now, but I love the look of this blade so much that I'm considering upping my strength just to wield it one-handed. Well, that and the dang maracas.

@redyoshi: I never found a better weapon than a Refined Lothric Knight Sword. I upgraded several other weapons to max, nothing could match it.

Low defence be damned, I love the fire keeper set (yet to find the blindfold, alas, if there is one to be found):

Finally found ma jam! (that wasn't just Fallen knight armor and helm). Behold total sickness:

• Wolf Knight armor - as base for chest, but nothing else from that set because it all looks scrawny, bleh, however the chest piece is just thick enough, yet elegant.
• Alva Helm - it's quite good statwise and is also just really a great looking helm besides, especially from the back, blends nicely with the armor as it sits snugly within the scarf and has that no nonsense, determined, angular feel from the front creating a wedge with both the armor and shield
• Dark gauntlets (from wraiths) - are my go to all around good looking gauntlets that work well with almost any armor, but more importantly also flow with the darkwraith sword too
• Knight leggings - like the gauntlets this were my pants for pretty much the entire game since getting them, they are not too skinny, not too fat, go well with any medium armor, are nicely armored at the front, yet at the back they are frailed and tattered just so for that perfectly imperfect look of a knight on the road
• Wolf Knight's greatshield - a sleek greatshield, oooh yea, not only does it look smooth (and not like you're lugging a wall around), but it's super light for a greatshiled yet has tons of poise, practical and good lookin
• Dark (wraith) sword - duh, I pioneered this bitch here like i did for the DS1 Zweihander before it was cool :P

PS: Dancer set just doesn't quite work for a burly dude like I hoped it would, but I am so looking forward to using it on a female character in one of the next playthroughts.

I love that firekeeper chestpiece. It's great! I'm mostly lighting my swords on fire for style too, but it's occasionally been very useful.

I'm roleplaying as the apprentice of that crazy nearly naked guy with the Uchigatana.

Personally I feel like out of all the Souls games this is by far the weakest when it comes to armor design. Maybe also because I have severe player's fatigue with this series.

Unfortunately there isn't one.

Bad armour for my build, but it must be done in the name of Fashion Souls.

Gotta update god I love fashion Souls no other game has armor designs so unique that I a full grown man with no interest in real life clothing actually like playing dress up.

I'm digging this look a lot, will probably stick with it for this character.

Havel has made a return in DS3! I swear anytime i find out that there's Havel armor in one of these games i make it a mission of mine to get it regardless of how complicated it might be to get.

Edit: i don't run around in this entire set, it's much too heavy for my encumbrance level i just put it all on to show it off. my running around set is just havel armor with a different helm and no gloves, with a broad sword and silver knight shield (or something similar to it).

Favorite setup at the moment. Sorry about the quality, had to take pictures of my TV.

Hood of Prayer, Lorian's Armor (chest, arms, legs), Golden Wing Crest Shield, Dark Sword, Carthus Flame Arc.

My sorceress finally beat Dancer so she has access to her armor, which I my favorite armor set in the game. She's not quite ready for the catwalk yet though. I'll post her when I'm finished.

FYI, unless you just meant good-looking, actually light armor is particularly good in this game. They made it work so that people would get largely the same benefit from armor, no matter what you choose aesthetically. The way the damage resistance works, you get a large, set amount from each different piece - any piece, even rags, you just have to put something on. The heavier armors only significantly change your survivability when receiving very heavy damage, like a 50 STR 2-handed weapon.

So basically, they made it more fashion souls friendly, which is a good thing IMO! Now just wear what you think looks cool, and worry about keeping your weight under 70% or whatever threshold you require, and not so much about the actual defense stats of the equipment.

TL;DR - Just wear something in every slot, it doesn't matter what, or you're taking a huge loss in your overall damage resistance. That means, don't go without a helmet unless you don't care about PvP competitiveness and PvE challenge (much more so than the previous Souls games).

I've been enjoying the Pissed Off Fire Keeper with the "fuck off" sized Dragonslayer Greataxe at the moment, but it's a real shame that you can't get her dope mask to go along with it. The Court Sorcerers Hood goes well, though.

Also, that axe hits like a asteroid. At +5 and 45 Str/Faith, the AR is 744, and with Deep Protection/Sacred Oath, it hits 859.

My current preferred look. Outrider Knight Helm, Undead Legion Armor, Firekeeper Manchettes, and Drang Pants. Also Ricard's Rapier and regular Rapier, because stabbing. The set is partially chosen to keep my equip load under 25 for Flynn's Ring, but...also I just think it looks pretty awesome.

For a bit of NG+ while I wait for the PC version of Dark Souls 1 to download, I respeced my character into a tarnished walking tank. Fallen Knight helm and chest, Executioner pants, Black Knight gloves. I would have gone for the Havel Shield since it's the heaviest, but it clashed too much with the rest. Still, 46 "weight units" of just sword and shield is pretty cool.

My current PvP build and fashion souls: Cornyx's Chestpiece (gotta kill Cornyx for it), Billed Mask, Black Gauntlets, Black Leggings, and Old Wolf Curved Greatsword. (Sorry for the blurriness. Transferring screenshots from the PS4 makes things look like that apparently)

I really like the look of this combination, I will say however after not liking the way amour sets looked on my player character I changed my body type to top heavy(using a covenant) and I'm a lot happier with how the amour sets fit on the player character model:

pyro headpiece, nameless king on the arms , fire witch legs and firelink chest piece

My favorite on my second character: Creighton's Steel Mask (my favorite from DS2 as well), the Drang set, Longsword, Shield of Want.

My favorite on my first character: Knight Helm, the Silver Knight set, Claymore, Silver Knight Shield.

I'm rocking Leonhard's set mostly (Silver Mask, Chest, Gauntlets), I love it. Can't remember the trousers, something heavy cause I had equip load to spare.

Pure fashion for my Sorcerer, never actually used that spear, it just matched the suit, followed by his actual equipment for the play through. Painted Knight head and legs, Fire Witch Armor torso and Silver Knight gauntlets with Sage's Crystal Staff and Scholar's Candlestick.
