Overview
Coach is one of four playable Survivors in
Left 4 Dead 2. He's the eldest of the Survivors, with his experience as a high school football coach giving him authority. (Much like
Bill in
Left 4 Dead) Though, he retains a very optimistic attitude. His face model is Darnell Rice and his voice actor is
Chad Coleman.
A native of
Savannah, Georgia, where the beginning of the game takes place, Coach was a defensive lineman in college. However, a knee injury ended his career, and he went back to his hometown to teach health at his local high school and coach his local high school football team (as a defensive coordinator) until the infection spread to his town.
Coach has a lot in common with
Ellis, such as appreciation for the
Midnight Riders and
Jimmy Gibbs Jr. He is friendly and patient with both Ellis and
Rochelle. However, he doesn't appreciate
Nick's sarcasm and pessimistic attitude. (Though, as the campaigns progress, they become less hateful towards eachother) He doesn't have much interaction with the original Survivors from Left 4 Dead in The Passing.
