Blind Guardian wrote the theme song for Sacred 2, developed by country mates Ascaron, and appear as characters in the game. A quest is given by the singer just south of the town of Clearview to find all the band's instruments that have been stolen by undead. After rescuing all the instruments with the help of the lead singer, the character is teleported to the town of Sonnenwind where the band gives a concert in the form of an in-engine music video for the title song, "Sacred". This video can be repeated at any time by visiting the same location and interacting with the singer again. Once the video is watched, the band's instruments are given to the player, which serve as powerful weapons in the game. Some of the minstrels in towns like Sloeford will sometimes be heard singing the chorus of the song.
