sure we can do that.. weekend runs are the real official ones with the big numbers, however those who'd also like to play during the week should be able to !  i gotta tell u though, ive been playing 2142 for a coupla hours and... i dont see what the love is about. its so cold and devoid of life, too few maps that all look the same : Halo-ish and in a desert.... no diversity in terrains or even kits whatsoever. not saying that i regret buying it, i guess its gonna be fun when we play it as a team, im just saying it doesnt have shit on BF2, which makes me wonder why it's fans speak of it like its a better game..   its so dry and cold >_> not to mention that both the PAC and EU flags on the map look freaking identical, and the voice commands are so annoying and dont feel related "

Steam overlay works fine for me with latest punkbuster, I don't get kicked in 2142 and can use the overlay fine. In BF2 I don't get kicked, however the overlay just doesn't work :/. PB is pretty random about stuff like that though, sometimes it'll update and kick steam overlay users and sometimes they fix it. (one of the many reasons I loathe punkbuster)

Yeah apparently there is some confusion right now. From what I see the current 1.51 client patch is going to be the final but there is still an issue with the server patch where it doesn't actually install, but if you reinstall the whole server with 1.51 it works so thats whats causing the delay with some servers not being updated.

EDIT: That patch didn't end up being the final, DICE has delayed it again until Tuesday where the final client patch will be officially announced. it will be 2gb.

Third (actually final) BF2142 1.51 Patch to go live Tuesday the 15th. If you already updated to 1.51 using another version of the patch (such as one I posted earlier), you will have to change your version number in your registry to make the upcoming patch install correctly.

OK guys, so we have a change of plans after a tip off here on the forums that the md5 checks were not working. We spent this week fixing them and have verified everything is working with some of the RSP's (thanks XFactorServers.com and ArtOfWarCentral.com).

The official release of BF2142 v1.51 will be on Tuesday 15th Febuary.

This does mean there is another patch file which EVERYONE will need to download and install.
If you have v1.51 installed already you will need to go into Regedit and modify version number from 1.51 to 1.50 before running the install file.

If you are installing fresh from DVD or EA Download Manager you will need to download and run v1.50 patch FIRST and then v1.51. You can get v1.50 from Fileplay here - Battlefield 2142 Patch v1.50 - Full download on Fileplay (BF2142_Update_1.50.exe)

The v1.51 patch is currently only for PC. The Mac version is away for the conversion process.
