    Battlefield: Bad Company Review

    Title: Battlefield: Bad Company
    Consoles: Xbox 360, PS3
    Genre: FPS

Story: This story revolves around a new guy in the army named Preston Marlow that you control. This new guy did something bad while in the army, and instead of getting thrown in jail, is thrust into Bad Company, a group of misfits and rule breakers that do the army's dirty work. The characters have a lot personality, and are funny at some times. Although when you are in a firefight getting shot, I don't think a actual soldier would spout out a joke. You and Bad Company make your way through a war with Russia, eventually fighting a mercenary army. As you encounter them however, your company finds gold on them, and the story becomes a goose chase after trucks full of gold. Although the story isn't great, it definitely beats the usual battlefield nonexistent story.

Gameplay: The gameplay is incredibly solid. Sometimes in shooters you fire rounds at a target, and you don't feel like your doing the work yourself, but rather pushing a button. I found the combat to be satisfying, and it works really well. The vehicles don't feel very smooth, and the controls get a little getting used to, but it still works fairly well. Also the explosives in the game doesn't have much splash damage, and the grenade launcher on a rifle is USELESS. Single player, the constant need to push that stupid healing needle into your chest gets annoying, but everything seems very solid in this department.

Presentation: The game looks very good. Simply put, theres a weird grime on everything you see, but it makes it so war torn. Which is good. Real good. Also the destructible environments are crazy awesome. Instead of making a plan around a bunch of buildings, just blast your way through in a straight line. They also look little silly sometimes though, since ladders and second floors wont be put away, the building will be reduced to 2 ground floors and a ladder and the exterior is blasted away. Still, this game is really cool to look at, and seeing a town blasted away from an earlier battle is a great sight.

Sound: The sound is probably the best I have ever heard in an FPS. You will hear bullet casings drop, every gun has a distinct gunshot sound, and the vehicles sound great. And when you hear an explosion being blasted, it sounds great.

    STORY: 8.0
    GAMEPLAY: 8.5
    PRESENTATION: 9.0
    SOUND: 9.5
    OVERALL: 9.0

FINAL VERDICT: The games good, but the best judge is yourself. Theres a great demo on Xbox Live Marketplace. Check it out before you buy it, and ill see you on the battlefield.

Unleash havoc on the battlefield like never before. 0

In late 2006, Electronic Arts released Battlefield 2142 on the PC to relative success. Two years later, the Battlefield series came to consoles with the release of Battlefield: Bad Company. In Bad Company, you'll be utilizing Dice's new Frostbite engine to destroy your way through a somewhat short single-player and an addicting multiplayer experience. Though Bad Company is quite different from its Battlefield cousins in both story and presentation, minus a few small annoyances, it's a great shoo...

Wanna blow stuff up? Get Bad Company. 0

If I wanted to make this review short and sweet, I'd probably just say "If you like blowing stuff up and killing a bunch of people while doing it, then Battlefield Bad Company is the game for you." But since I like to add a bit of professionalism to my reviews, I'll delve a bit more into the game and give you a more enlightened point of view on this first-person shooter. Battlefield Bad Company comes from developer EA DICE and publisher Electronic Arts and chronicles the adventures of B-Company...
