Originally born William Bruce Rose Jr., as a young man Axl Rose moved to Los Angeles, California and joined a band to limited success. It was only after a merger with another band and several line-up changes, which would include Slash, that Axl found success as the singer for Guns n' Roses. Work in Video Games
Rose's most notable work in games may be in voicing DJ Tommy "The Nightmare" Smith, the presenter of the K-DST rock radio station in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. There are also playable versions of a number of Guns n' Roses tracks in the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games, while Burnout Paradise uses the Guns n' Roses song "Paradise City" on the title screen and in-game radio, and is set in a city of the same name. Mega Man X5 features a boss named Axle The Red named after Rose himself.
