    Overview

Asuka 120% BURNING Fest. is a 2D fighting game developed by Fill-in-Cafe and published by Family Soft for the FM Towns in Japan on March 11, 1994.

One of the earliest examples of a fighting game featuring an all-female cast, Asuka 120% takes place in the Ryouran Private School for Women, where multiple extracurricular clubs must fight in an annual martial arts tournament for funding. Each of the six representatives employ techniques related to each club (such as Asuka from the Chemistry Club throwing vials of chemicals and Tamaki from the Tennis Club fighting with her tennis racket).

While playing similarly to other 2D fighting games released since Street Fighter II, Asuka 120% features a simplified control scheme (with only two attack buttons: Light and Heavy), simple special move commands, and a "clash" system (where players can continue attacking after both characters hit each-other).

It was later ported to the Sharp X68000 on April 22, 1994, and received an updated revision for the FM Towns on December 22, 1994 (as Asuka 120% Excellent: BURNING Fest.), featuring an updated story mode. It later received numerous ports and revisions throughout the '90s.
