I totally agree with your sentiment on the GOTY deliberations, Alex. I felt like Jazzpunk was made specifically for me, and it was odd that my brain would understand so many of the references it throws. It's as though my existence had been distilled into one game, and thrown back to me as a collection of jokes (which of course I would laugh at)

So... Alex's game of the year was basically a virtual series of knock-knock jokes. Cool, I guess.

I'm none too impressed with 2014 either. I find it ironic that Ubisoft was complaining a few years ago about the console makers holding the industry back for letting the 360/PS3 generation go on for so long. Apparently Ubi felt they were ready for new hardware. Well, funny that their first "next-gen" AC game shipped broken as hell. There were some great games that released in 2014 but overall its kind of making me sad that this generation is taking so damn long to truly get underway.

Alex keeping it real for me this year on the GOTY lists, seriously its kinda embarresing how Hearthstone has been swept under the rug by the majority of the giantbomb staff, ye they may not play, or even like it, but it needs to be recognised for the massive impact it has had.
