Al Horford is a 6'10", 245 lb. center/power forward from the University of Florida who plays for the Atlanta Hawks.
Horford was born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. He went to high school at Grand Ledge in Grand Ledge, Michigan. He chose to go to the University of Florida, where he played three seasons. During his freshman year, the Florida Gators won the SEC Championship. During his sophomore and junior seasons Florida won 2 National Championships. Horford decided to forgo his senior season to enter the 2007 NBA Draft. He was picked 3rd overall. He impressed in his rookie season, and was second in voting of the NBA Rookie of the Year to Kevin Durant. He averaged 10.1 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game during his rookie year, 2007-08.
Horford struggled with injuries in the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons. Despite that he's still one of the elite players at the Hawks.
