Games are going the whole survival route all over the place. From Stalker to Minecraft, survival looks like it's heading to be the new 'desert combat', and I'm A-OK with that for now. I really hope Far Cry 3 has some survival elements like hunger or bleeding management.@Deusoma said:
Now this is a Walking Dead game I might actually play. What a pleasant surprise, Friday is turning out to be a good news day.
I agree with you. The whole survival concept in a first person shooter sounds pretty intriguing.

@Alex - Not to be a dick, but in this article "canon" should be "cannon"
Time to hang my head in shame - I was way wrong haha.
I just hope Activision doesn't push this game to be arcady Terminal Reality has a good chance of making this good since they did a pretty good job on the Ghostbusters game never played it but from the reviews it wasn't a bad game at all.I have more interest in this game then Telltale's. I don't like point and click adventure game's and the comic book style doesn't appeal to me this game could turn out really awesome just hope Activision doesn't involve there dirty paws on it.
I'm so fucking burnt-out on zombies. Jesus Christ. At this point, you can guarantee something will sell well if you just shoehorn zombies into it. Even that abortion of a game Dead Island sold well and it would have been an otherwise generally ignored, shitty game.
Telltale: Let's make a game that makes sense with the universe, and focuses more on the interactions between characters than it does the action, while simultaneously doing something interesting and unique with the adventure genre.
Activision: Let's make a shooter... with zombies....
Terminal Reality has not put out many good games. The only one I see out of that list is Hellbender, and I only thought it was good because I was 10. I'm more than happy with Telltale's Walking Dead game.
Isn't the Walking Dead more inclined to be that of a work of drama and not action? For instance, how is it that much of issues in the graphic novel or episodes in the series feature less zombie combat which many come to expect, and draws attention to how the survivors cope with living in an apocalyptic realm and how they try to cling onto some semblance of hope. This is like making a game based around the Shawshank Redemption as a beat-em-up, because there happened to be a couple fights in the movie.

Minor complaint but for someone that hasn't watched the second series that picture is a pretty big spoiler.
Which finished more than six months ago.
Everything is a spoiler for someone about something. Deal.
Not in my country.
I bet 100 bucks you have no idea what is actually happening in that "spoiler." Stop trying to over think a picture.

I now that that Merle isn't dead, spoiler enough.

Oh good, you play as Daryl, everyone's least favorite character. That was a smart move...
What?
I wasn't interested in this game until I read that I would play as him. Most people I know rank him pretty high, if not highest (like me). Would like to get more backstory on him, but I don't know if the game will actually focus much on that.

It's a soap opera which sometimes features a zombie. Of course Merle returns, just like everyone we don't explicitly see dying will return - and even worse - we can see them die and they'll still return cuz zombies.

An fps? uhhhhhhh, no thanks. Walking dead is a story driven series! It's not about killing zombies!
Because you can't tell a story in an FPS right?

Not the way Activision does FPSs.
Three hours of shooting sprinkled sparsely with two hours of story that may or may not make sense, topped off with...
MULTIPLAYER!!! MULTIPLAYER WE CAN MAKE MORE MONEY WITH!!! HOW MANY DIFFERENT WAYS CAN WE CHARGE FOR OUR MULTIPLAYERRRRRR!!!!
ehem...excuse me.

Agreed. When you get to the scene in the show that that capture was taken from, you're going to face palm at how little of a spoiler it was. And will you apologize to anyone here for your little outburst? No, probably not.

Little outburst?
Get a grip mate and try and look at it from my point of view. I had no fucking idea that Merle returned as a character at any point in the show. Instead of his re-introduction being somewhat of a surprise or even a mildly interesting plot point its now just an expected inevitability. I made a polite comment in case others were in the same boat as me and I get jumped on by the weird 'Its ok to spoil without warning if its minor' police.

I'm not the one who needs to "get a grip" complaining about spoilers in a television show that probably won't be remembered in another decade.
Whatever, man. I give up. I'm moving on now. Have a nice life.
just want to say that i haven't finished it yet but episode 1 of the telltale game already feels infinitely closer in style and substance to the comic than the show ever has. some very tense moments so far. also i feel like a jerk since my actions are making Lee into a lying sleazebag when i really don't want to (wonder if that's subliminal or not...).
i'll withhold judgement on this game but i'm not expecting much.
why Acti always takes the easiest route & makes this & bond into FPS, with the same old COD engine, instead of giving us proper games with 3rd person pespectives included.
but theres little hope for any Acti game, cause the developers they have are all rather average.
shame, the ideas are good.
This headline reads like an April fools article title. I can hardly believe just how like "yeah I guess you would expect this" it is.
Also one of you dudes having the argument is trolling the other because you may notice the distinct number of forearms that Merle has in that shot. Also, you're both pretty dumb.
Was willing to give this game a pass until I see more gameplay, but I must admit that basing the game around those characters kind of turn me off of the game. I like them in the show, but I would have preferred for them to take the telltale route and make their own cast in the same setting. Will see how it turns out.
I'm just happy to see more zombie games if for no other reason then to piss off the fools that bitch and moan every time they make a new one.

Probably neither of us, since it's a big site and we'll most likely never encounter each other again. :)
This actually sounds quite cool if they deliver on the brief amount of premise. I'm bored with zombies but if a game goes all survival on it ala Day Z then it could work really well. That mods popularity obviously shows there is a market for this kind of game.
Why Merle and Daryl, of all the characters to choose from? I hate those guys! I don't want to play as them!
Also, literally the only good Terminal Reality game I can think of was Ghostbusters, and even that was only good, not phenomenal or anything.
I guess I'll wait and see before I pass judgement.
