The title is famous for its all-star development team which included Kazuya Niinou as director, Rieko Kodama as producer, and Yuzo Koshiro as the composer. While 7th Dragon was never published outside of Japan a fan translation patch was released on April Fools Day of 2014 by Geoff Embree, who initially disguised the release as a retranslation of Etrian Odyssey.
