something very unqiue
This game offers something you simply can't get in any other racing sim, apart from Automobilista, and that's no exaggeration. How many other truck racing simulation games have you seen out there ? And how many have you seen that feature tracks you have never seen before (outside of other Reiza games) ? This is as rare and unique as it gets.
I need to point out that this game is also available as a DLC for Reiza's latest mega-game: Automobilista. Another fantastic game by these developers.
You get driving physics that is technical and challenging, which is no surprise since it's based on the "gMotor" engine, used in a large number of high-class racing sims. If you have played Reiza's other games you'll notice that the feel of the game is quite similar when it comes to the physics, it is also reminiscent of rFactor 2 and Race 07. However, there's big difference between racing with a truck and racing with a car. That's one of the things that makes this game so unique, it's a unique driving experience.
Sure, the game could be prettier, but a proper PC sim should focus on physics rather than glitter in my opinion. Of-course, I'm as impressed with pretty games as everyone else, but it's not my priority when it comes to more "hardcore" sim racing games. This game has the right kind of focus.
If you have played sim racing games before you know the drill: practise, tune, practise, tune, practise, ... and so on. Unlike mainstream racing games, sim games demand a great deal of time if you want to achieve a good result and get the most out of the game. The technical challenge is the source of the replay value. In this case, being such a unique game is another big reason to go back to it.
There are multiple controller options, which you can fully map and customize. It plays really well with a regular gamepad. However some kind of wheel control will make it smoother to steer. For example if you use a steering wheel or one of those gamepads with a mini-wheel attached to it. The game also features assists for people new to sim racing. So in theory anyone can play and enjoy this game.
The game has real-life tracks and real-life truck brands. If you haven't played Reiza's Automobilista or Stock Car games you'll experience a whole bunch tracks that you won't see in any other racing sim. This is another unique characteristic of a Reiza game.
To sum up: if you like sim racing games and/or want something very unqiue, you should give this a go.
