So Final Fantasy isn't the only long-running RPG series making the transition to the current generation. Falcom is working on a brand new Ys game for the PS4, and it looks really promising.

Ys has never had the huge budget of a Final Fantasy, but it's a solid RPG series with a long history. Fans should be pleased by this.

Anyway, I've never played an Ys game before, but this looks pretty fun. Will definitely check it out if it comes out here.

I think it was announced like a week ago but this is the first footage released. Regardless I am excited. When I get a PS4 there will be some great games out! Also if the Vita version turns out to be good then I might just skip the PS4 version because honestly it doesn't graphically look that great, but that's not really its strong suit it seems.

I wanna say that this was the same footage from the pre-TGS stream a week or two ago. Maybe a little more footage. Nobody really talked about it here though.

Actually, I'd be totally OK if they kept this look and just got a bunch of crazy shit in there without dropping a single frame in 1080p.

In any case, Memories of Celceta must have done well.

@hailinel: It was announced at the first Sony Pre TGS conference a week ago. This trailer was exactly what they showed.

I really hope this is good. The Ys games on Steam were really good.

I've liked every Ys game that came out over here so I expect this one will be pretty good. It kinda looks like it'll just be upgraded port of the vita version going by the way it looks but that's fine. After all Ys is all about the boss fights.

The Vita game was terrible (at least, for what I want out of a Ys game) and this looks kinda similar to that in design, so I'm not sure I'm in. I'll have to wait and see.

Ys always seems like a top down action RPG sort of thing to me. I'm not sure what they'll get out of it by making it like all the other 3D Action RPGs. But hey, Ark of Napishtim was pretty good. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Everytime I see Ys, I'm just reminded of the Rance series.

Col, we can always use more new JRPGs stateside. Especially console ones.

I like the way the newer Ys games have played generally, but holy shit that ground texture is straight out of 07', and the open world looks dead. S'all good though, at least it has HIGH SPEEDO BATTLE.

Ys is my favourite series so I am excited about this
