Give it a go, you might be suprised-
Okay ill be honest, expectations of this game for me were at subterranean levels and i think i can assume the same for anyone reading this, but beneath the very crappy exterior is an above average Devil May Cry clone.
X-blades is an Anime styled action game in the vein of Devil May Cry or God of War, with fast paced frenetic combat and upgradable abilities and epic bosses.
The story of X-Blades follows a female treasure hunter named "Ayumi" who has ventured to a mysterious island seeking a relic of great power, this greedy venture leads to her being cursed and having to go on a journey to find a cure for the curse.
The game is very similiar and borrows elements from Anime and is paced similiar to an Anime despite only featuring 15 or so mintues of total cutscenes.
The gameplay of X-blades is very arcadey with Ayumi entering an area and a completion bar showing her progress will appear in the corner, you are then tasked with clearing the level which can range from killing a horde of enemies to solving a puzzle or defeating enemies using a specific ability.
The games music is also very arcadey with faced paced music that helps keep you killing the hordes of mindless enemies, to complement this the game features an Anime like cell shaded graphics style that helps X-Blades stand out from the other action games on the market.
Honestly X-blades isn't for everyone, but i do reccomend renting it and giving it a go, you might find yourself suprised.
