so close
*edit*

Played the demo for this, as far as I could tell it never told me the buttons, so I put it on the third of four difficulty's and had a lot of fun button mashing and waving the sticks around. Got smashed, but for a free demo it was fun. Would never in a million years pay for it.

I've played the demo. I was scared how appealing it was. Maybe not to the point of me buying it, but if it landed in some bizarre way in my PS3, I would not complain.

The ground controls are still awkward. However, I hope this game delivers ten times more than it's predecessor. If not, there is always EA MMA.

i am pretty hyped for this game, it is weird theres no tutorial in the demo, but i guess they figure its mostly carryover fans.  Once i get this and look over the controls more i will be back into it like i was the first game. Looks to be really solid, the graphics are crisp, the blood effect is good in areas but kinda ridiculous in others(the stuff on the mat looks bad but blood drip, etc looks good), only downside was it seemed real easy to get tapped, but i guess thats realistic. Guess that kinda depends on the fighters too.

Due to the sudden interest in consumer-eye-poking related business, who doesn't want to be a fighter? You gotta fight, for your right. Might not be a legal right, but things like this feel wrong. Renting, trading, lending, giving, selling etc. Even though I rarely do such things, I would still like to be able to. And this is a step in the wrong direction. If we tolerate this, then what will be next?

You probably should take a stand, and I guess I kind of am. This move by THQ made me take a deeper look at the game and realize that I'm not that interested in it, which is the primary reason why I'm swapping my pre-order. But the "online pass" is the catalyst and what tipped the scale.

Although my real threshold lies at what EA pulled with Bad Company 2.  That kind of stuff I simply won't tolerate.

I wonder how many takes they had to do to keep GSP's accent to a minimum.

How to kick a man in the head:

1. Get into stance. If you are right handed, that means standing with your right leg back. If you're a lefty, the left leg. Hold your fists in front of your head as if you had horns and were grabbing onto them. Stay loose and keep your weight on the balls of your feet.

2. Step. If you are right handed, step to the left, front foot first (and vice versa for a southpaw). By doing this you are moving your effective area of attack behind your target. This will allow you to kick though the target. It also sets up a good momentum for the kick.

3. Set up the counterbalance. Drop the arm of your dominate hand behind you. By doing this you are shifting your center of balance backwards. This will allow you to kick forward without falling forward.

4. Kick. Rase the knee of your back leg in front of your body. Then, in one continuing whiplike motion, extend your shin through the target. Not the foot. The foot is a fleshy object with plenty of breakable bones. The knee is a hard relatively nerve dead area which can strike well.

And for anyone who thinks that doing this makes you a badass, understand there are plenty of far simpler moves which will knock anyone down. By virtue of the fact that you have a center of balance, anyone can take you down. Every human being has the power to destroy every other human being they see. That they don't, have not, have to be forced to do it, is heartening. Keep that in mind.

They don't oil up, unless you believe BJ Penn when he loses.

Respect GSP, by far the greatest fighter in his weight class.
Loved the demo too.

Psyched for this game, preordered it right after I got Red Dead.

It's not that it was a bad line read, that's just how GSP sounds speaking English. It's always awkward.
