Chairman Drek, who later graciously re-titeled himself Ultimate Supreme Executive Chairman Drek, is a successful businessman and main villain in the original Ratchet and Clank game. As the leader of his own race, the Blarg, Drek secretly pollutes his home planet Orxon, making it uninhabitable for all life forms. He then plans to remove various sections from planets thoughout the Solana Galaxy, combining them into one new planet for all his people to live in. By doing so, he would also pocket a huge amount of cash as the sole owner of this idealic planet. Drek also hired Captain Qwark to work on his behalf, after offering him a position as a spokesman on the new planet. This allegiance also led to Qwark facing up to Ratchet and Clank in a battle, under command from Drek to remove all opposition.

To fulfil his ambitions, Drek commissioned the Deplanetizer to be built, and revealed his plan to destroy Ratchet's home planet of Veldin, placing the new Blargian planet in its orbit. Ratchet and Clank manage to track him down and do battle with him. Drek is eventually defeated, but at the end of the fight, Drek accidentally falls back on the Deplanetizer, destroying his new Blargian planet in the process.

Drek briefly appears in two subsequent games; firstly in Captain Qwark's flashback in Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, and as a floating image in Ratchet's Dreamtime level in Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters.
