Modern Times adds a ton!
This DLC add-on should satisfy the Tropico fans who say that Tropico 4 is too similar to Tropico 3. For the first time in the series this DLC lets you play past the cold war era and into the 80s, 90s, present and future.
Your guide to the new additions in Modern Times comes in the form of a timeline button in the bottom left. It brings up a timeline that tells you when new buildings become available and other world events that effect the economy. Modern times replaces a majority of the staple buildings in the game as you progress through the years. Some examples are modern apartments and condominiums, a "7-star hotel" that replaces the previous large hotel, and modern farms that can produce either all three cash crops or fruits at the same time. It also adds some brand new buildings that don't replace another like the Ziggurat, which is a huge housing structure holding up to 50 families.
Unlike the rest of DLC for Tropico 4, the content in Modern Times is not available when playing the main campain; rather, it comes with it's own story line of missions that are unique and will add hours to your Tropico play time.
