So, i was watching the Trials Evolution TNT last night, and whille they were going through Track Central, on Redlynx Picks, i noticed there was a square missing there, cos there used to be 8, and now one is missing, but i didn't notice which track it was, but i did find it wierd that they didn't play or even mentioned the Super Bike Boy track.

So i went in the game this morning to check it out for myself, and...

It wasn't there...

Anyway, anyone know what happened, for it to be removed?

Do you think it's because Redlynx, maybe didn't ask Team Meat if they could do it, and they just did it, and someone from Team Meat or related, asked 'hem to pull it out?

Btw, if you had download it before, you still have it, you can still play it.

That track was sick as hell and everything that makes Trials as balls hard as it should be. I'm pretty sure that Team Meat would bow down to the creator of that track! Why would someone take it down? Stupid fucking copyrights.

Yeah, i'm pretty sure that anyone involved in the making of a game like Super Meat Boy, would be totally cool with this.

So, i have to imagine this has something to do with some suit guy.

Neat track, but the guy playing in the video sounds like an even more annoying Weird Al.

RedLynx probably made the decision to remove it themselves, perhaps based on a user report. I don't think there's a really interesting story behind it.

Why would a user report this track, what reason could someone have report it?

Cos it would have to be a damn good reason for Redlynx to just remove a Track they actually made.

And i really don't see what that reason could be.

RedLynx is being proactive. They know it's illegal, so they got rid of it. They're not going to wait for the copyright owner to tell them something they already know.

That doesn't make much sense considering there's a blatant Limbo homage right there in the main track list, rather than in the user-made section. I highly doubt Team Meat would take them to court over this, considering they're an indie team.

It's too bad it's not up anymore. I'd have loved to test my mettle with it.

Maybe it had some form of major bugg that crashed the game or corrupted savefiles or something, it all seems pretty weird.

To clarify, much like the FPS target level and the Angry Birds type level, Super Bike Boy was a track created by the developers and essentially made available as free day one DLC. It seems that this was done to give players a good reason for checking out the track download feature, and to show how powerful the content editor can be.

Before the game was even released, I heard a developer interview where it was said that the game includes themed levels based on several other games, including Limbo, Angry Birds, 'Splosion Man, and Super Meat Boy.

Limbo and 'Splosion Man are both published by Microsoft, and the Angry Birds doesn't feature any characters or content from the official game. Super Bike Boy--on the other hand--was not themed after a game published by Microsoft, and features the character Bandage Girl, who is seen at the end of the level.

If RedLynx didn't have full permission from the developer and publisher of Super Meat Boy, I can see why it would have to be pulled. There's no humorous "spin" on the content, so it would be hard to claim that it's parody, and even if they did that, other countries outside the US have different laws when it comes to copyright and parody. For the best example I can think of, just look at what South Park is able to get away with.

I haven't played or watched any videos of the game because I figure I know what to expect from Trials. So yes, I ignored that fact.

I don't think Edmund or Tommy would have it removed. They are both very good guys.

That reminds me, I need to check if someone's made 1-1 yet.

I just bought and downloaded the game this morning (in Australia, which may have something to do with it?) and was able to download and unsuccessfully complete the Super Bike Boy track from RedLynx's Picks in Track Central.

Yeah the track is back up just checked.

Yes, the track is now back up, but it was actually removed for a day.

You can check the Trials Evolution TNT if you need proof.

The question now is, why was it removed in the first place?

EDIT: Scratch that, it was removed again...

They added new stuff, but the Super Bike Boy track is not there anymore...

Yeah, i thought about that, but, first, it doesn't look much like blood, and then, it comes out of your bikes exaust.

And then, they put it back up, just to remove it again the next day.

I really don't know what's goping on.
