    Tony Hawk

Character » appears in 24 games

Tony Hawk is one of the world's most famous professional skateboarders. Like John Madden to Football, Tony Hawk's name is synonymous with video game skateboarding, thanks to his "involvement" with Activision and Neversoft to make the seminal skateboarding franchise, "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater".

Favorite game in the Tony Hawk series?

Those first 5 games I list though are badass.

Pro Skater 4 was probably my favorite ever.  THUG is a close second.

2 was the highlight of the series for me..  The first game was very original, and a lot of fun to play, even for non-skaters.  The second took everything about it and multiplied it, making it better in every single aspect.  It It was all down hill from there though the third and fourth were still enjoyable enough, they just didn't have the same impact on me as the first two.

I always thought it was Tony Hawks, and I was going to complain about your apostrophe placement. But you are right, it is Tony Hawk, and I have learned something today.

Among all the Tony Hawk games, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 would be my very favourite. And also the only one that I played.

I do love Skate 2 though.

Pro Skater 3 was my favourite. I never really played any TH games after that.

Tony Hawks is a British commedian.
He has some pretty amusing emails on his website from people who thought exactly what you did.

@WinterSnowblind: Great shout - funny replies. I always liked Tony Hawks, don't often see him on TV any more. Nice dry wit.

I agree with this statement completely 100%, one of the best video game licensed soundtracks of all time.

I liked 2 the best, but that is probably just nostalgia talking, I played the hell out of that game back in the day.  I skipped 4 for some reason, I didn't spend much time with it so it doesn't stand out to me, although my friends all think that is the best.

THPS3 is one of my all-time favorite games. I was a huge fan of the series and am saddened by the way it's been neglected since Skate came out. I'm very disappointed that instead of showing Skate who was still king, Activision pretty much just punked out, despite the fact that Skate wasn't even a great game. Sure, it had a lot of good stuff going for it, but still had a long way to go before it could reach the level of Tony Hawk's greatness. Then Skate 2 came out and was a pretty crappy and lazy sequel. Ah well. Tony Hawk had a good run. 10 years of dominance on more consoles than probably any game series in history.

THPS2 is the big highlight for me.  3 and 4 are also great, but 2 is my favorite PlayStation game and one of my favorite games of all time.  I played the shit out of it with my dad for multiplayer as a kid and replayed the Career mode so many times I can't count it.  I got to replay it with a bunch of people in Navy separations, and I like the feeling in 2 of how the game is more stacked against the vert people (Tony's always my man) and I could still kick their asses ten times over.  It's pretty sad to see how badly the Tony Hawk series has fallen nowadays compared to several years back when it fucking dominated.
