    My Spore Experience

So after weeks of anticipation, I went out and scoured the stores for a reasonably priced copy of Spore, and the best I found was actually sold out. So I went and ordered it off the internet. When I got it, I went straight to my computer, installed it, and started to play.

Starting off, it was pretty good. being a carnivore, I swam around and attacked other creatures, until the ocean decided it didn't want me. I was booted out of the ocean and given legs and nested. Then I went and killed some land creatures instead, scavanging bones for new body parts, which bothered me because I thought I would have all the items already.

None the less, I evolved, killed and evolved some more. It was rather tedious and I got rather bored, so I went out and got my spore creature to swim, then to my horror, he was eaten by a big huge lake creature which came out of sodding nowhere. Thanks for warning me about the deep water... AFTER I WAS CHUFFING EATEN!

I was soon in the tribal stage, and I geared up my Spore creation with some fancy duds and went and did some more killing. I mean, who needs neighbouring tribes who claim to be your friend, but when you attack them for stealing your food, suddenly YOU'RE the bad guy!

Anyway, I played through the tribal stage until I had 1 other tribe left. I set off for battle and lost. I lost all my people and had to restart. Not from just before the attack, but from the start of the whole damn stage. "Screw that!" I thought and clicked out of my world. Then I was confronted with a message 'Civilisation stage unlocked'. That's right, you don't even have to complete the stages, you just have to play them a little, and the next stage is unlocked.
"Brilliant!" I said and got through to the much anticipated 'Space stage' Now I'm going to get to go to other planets and see other people's spores and it'll be so fun!
    WRONG!
I had to go back and forth doing some more tedious missions, I had to fly to a planet that was within a certain range for some odd reason and I didn't get to explore.
That's when I turned off the game, uninstalled it and never went back.

In the hype, I was promised to be able to fly around and visit other people's spore creatures and interact and it would be a big huge bundle of awesome, what I got was boring missions, pointless levels and the only fun thing to do is to make different creatures, avoiding making a big penis monster, because to be honest, I thought people who did that were rather sad.

It was not until the middle of the Space age when I realized how addicted I am and how great this game actually is.Up to that point I considered Spore as some childish Sims-like painting and building game; very fun to go through once, but nothing challenging or worth remembering. All the stages were too easy to even bother going into the details (if there are any), so I was expecting to go over the Space stage in the same manner and call it a day.Yes, but no. When I was wiped out by another race...

Nothing More Than a Casual Game 0

When reading the previews and even the mainstream reviews of Spore, the game seems to be one of the most creative and revolutionary games of our time, at least as far as creativity. Sadly, I feel for these previews and reviews as well. I even went against my better judgment and bought the game with it's horrible DRM and limited activation policies. DRM is not the only flaw found in this game. The game is set up with several different gameplay modes, and while fun for a temporary time, is nothing...
