For an Unfinished, this game sure is out fully on PS4.

The zombie climbing looks neat, and it seems a lot like L4D in a good coop way.

Heard this game is super popular.

So does Days Gone have the zombie horde tech like this? Because that's the only thing I remember about the first Days Gone footage and it looked awesome.. and I have not seen any of it since it released.

I kinda want to play this just for the crazy enemy count and waves.

I feel like this has a chance to be a sleeper hit and fill a void L4D left behind. Wish the people you play as had more expressive personalities but otherwise this looks solid as hell.

The ZomTech looks really cool in this. I'm just really done with the whole 'special infected archtypes', you got the hazmat guy with the green stinky stank, you got the big brute guy who picks you up and smashes you over and over. It's like come on there's gotta be an undiscovered theme you can use to make a special zed.

@pete0r: Yep. Already out on PS4, Xbox and Epic Store. Maybe Ben thinks it's early access until it comes to Steam or Switch? ;)

Gameplay audio is a little quiet on this one.

Can't wait for the PC version.

I've heard nothing but good things about this game, and it does look pretty good.

Not to take away anything from the developers but this doesn't look like a big AAA blah, blah, blah game but rather a B game you'd see last gen... something this generation of games has been missing and it's awesome.

Where is this mystical 8th avenue station that has the 1, 2, 3, A, C, E, a second E train on the yellow line (is that new?) a G train on the yellow line (also new?) and an... 8 train?

also those subway turnstiles are so wide you could walk around those things. Honestly though, this game looks like the Left 4 Dead 3 that I've been waiting for.

EDIT: and then they go in and there's a Y train???

Also I will never get people who are cool with denuvo but hate EGS.

Nothing says final release like a bunch of debug text at the bottom of the screen.

Love the look of this game. Wish it was on the Switch, but I guess the system won't be able to handle the massive amount of horde on screen.

@fistoh: Honestly, they come a lot closer than most games. The mall is clearly Time Warner center, with the escalators in the right places and the xmas lights that they hang every year. The station seems meant to be the 59th St. 1/A/C/B/D station. The A does go from there to Inwood (where I'm sitting right now) so they're at least partially right?

This game actually looks kinda fun? Considering it's based on a movie that didn't look very good, I'm kind of impressed. Always dig when movie tie-in games manage to pull off something cool.

I mean, it's a shameless blatant rip off of L4D but also it has been a decade since the last L4D game so it feels like fair game to me at this point tbh.

Yeah, as much as I might think I'm tired of zombie games, I have such fond memories of both L4D games and I have to say this looks pretty impressive on a lot of fronts. And the thought of course arises how I would love to have a proper new L4D game but even if Valve decided to do that, the Source engine is so old.. it would NEED to be on some next gen engine to really be worth it. A Source-driven L4D3 would not look anywhere near as good as this game.

I can't say I care much for the specific IP and I wonder if I would be more interested in this if it were its own thing rather than leaning on a book/movie.

Does the Epic store even do cloud saves? Either way I'm surprised this does client-side progression, normally games like that store everything on the server.

Ah, so Max Brooks' universe, which was famous mostly for being super grounded and 'realistic' so to speak, now has class-based zombies. Turns out, there's different brands of Solanum now!

There is so much movement and camera jerking around in this QL it gave me an actual headache. The game looks super bland but then again Saber has always been mediocre at best developer.

This game is reviewing poorly but selling a lot, are people really that hungry for more zombie games? Or is this some weird effect of being the only zombie game on the epic store and people assuming it must be good?

I've had enough of zombies. It looks like it has a few improvements over l4d and a lot of stuff just copied over but thats not enough to catch my interest, looks pretty dull.

Any chance this will come to PS4?

In general, I despise zombie games. The one exception to that rule is L4D, so I am pretty interested in this.

@seikenfreak: I think they dialed it back or removed it entirely. Days Gone from what I gather kinda reminds me of the Mad Max game in generic-ness (servicable and fun as an open world clear and collect a thon but not much more). The flowing zombie tides would have been cool in that game (maybe it was *too* close to world war z for comfort)

This looks awesome but I still think I'd rather just play L4D. The characters had much more personality and you really cared about them. Plus the special infected were so well designed and even fun to play as. Stalking people while playing as a Hunter might be the most fun I've ever had in any game.

I watched World War Z again because of this Quick Look. I couldn't remember if I liked that movie or not. As it turns out, I don't.

It is out on both consoles (Xbox and PS4). Not an early access game. Sells for $40 on consoles

Man, this looks like a lot of fun actually. The zombie blobs and the way they plunge themselves from buildings looks fantastic.

This game is just damned fun, highly recommend especially if you have friends to play with.

Are there any Lobos in this game?

(For the uninitiated, a Lobo is the weapon that turns the tide of World War Z in the book. Short for “lobotomizer”, it’s basically a sharpened shovel for chopping off zombie heads. And yes, the book is VERY good and essentially nothing like the film.)

@drm2thej: there seems to be one paid DLC (”Lobo and three golden guns”), costs about three bucks in the PS Store.

Seems ok. The horde tech is cool. It really does look a lot like an arcade game. As in the kind of game you'd find in an actual arcade. It's kind of strange to get that sense for a game that's meant to keep players around for a long time. But maybe it will manage, who knows.

4:42 EGS doesn't support cloud saves, so that's why that's not a thing with this game, or any game on EGS. Epic competing for game companies is not good for consumers. Consumer-facing features, practices, policies are an afterthought at best.

This particular game is the first one on EGS that's not necessarily notably more expensive to me than it would've been had Epic not paid Saber to remove their game from competing platforms. Saber deserves some cut slack as unlike 99% of game companies on EGS, they dropped the price, offering a 12.5% discount, which is more or less in line with the minimum discount you tend to get from third party stores like GreenManGaming. Minimum being a key word though. GMG discounts tend to range from 14-25%.

And Saber did remove World War Z from sale on Cdkeys, a gray market store which Saber was apparently planning on distributing keys to on the cheap. I've been told it was €23, which would be a 42.5% discount. Those keys were never distributed and buyers were refunded. That was a ridiculous discount though, I don't think it's fair to expect those to be around. But you know, if they are, then that's cool.

I've come to accept GB's level of ignoring things on games they don't like but is it really that hard to know basic things with this game that they like?

This looks bland, B-gamey & a ton of fun if you liked L4D. There's always a place for a game to shoot up a bunch of mindless AI with your buddies. Especially if you can throw a molotov coctail or a grenade and make 50 enemies fly through the sky.
