What the fuck, wow.

For context, I was stuck on Ludwig for like 4 hours. Hardest boss in the game for me, and I stumbled my way through with panicked rolling and a summon.

Also, I liked Prometheus a lot. It gets pooped on nowadays but I'll still pop it on now and then.

I ALSO spent around 4 hours beating my head against Ludwig, but found Maria and the Orphan far, far, FAR easier (beat Maria my 2nd try and the Orphan on my 4th).

That is not a brag, that is a roundabout way to say "Many experience the Soulsborne differently." It's why I love watching them be played and why I can't stand comments that pretend there's any one "right" way to play.

I am continually blown away by the ease that Jan displays when dispatching bosses. Wow. It's like he and I are playing two different games.

Jan is just goofing with us at this point.. he has played the game many times before and is pretending to be a newbie for our benefit. Jan is actually that guy that beat the game using a DDR dance controller.

I know I shouldn't be surprised, seeing as how Jan's a badass at this game, but I thought this boss would take longer. I haven't even beaten this boss. I banged my head against it until I decided, "fuck it, I'm just going to beat the game now." And here Jan is beating him in 3 tries.

Cool second form though. I hate how flaily he is in form 1; I could never read one flail from another with him. Sword phase seems to at least have wind-ups and better tells. And the music really scales up as well.

@topcyclist: Jeff will never go back and finish it. He liked it more than the rest but I doubt he has it in his heart to go and get into it unless 10 years from now he will have a sudden turn of heart like he has with Minecraft right now, which for years he didn't get or particularly like.

Also I'm sure we would all want to see Jan equip that moonlight sword once.. thats all it would be and should he really grind like 100k souls just so he can wave it around and be done with it? He already wasted a lot of time for the cannon, I know people want him to see all the cool stuff in a single run but I just dunno if it's worth the time since he won't end up using it anyway.

If Jan plays Sekiro, he's going to absolutely love it, right?

Ludwig in NG+ is very hard, but OoK is super hard. I needed help to beat both and don’t feel bad about it.

Be careful with your great hair, Jan. You don’t want to be 40 and wondering if bleaching and dye jobs have negatively affected your hair’s fullness like they may have done with another GB West employee.

Thanks again for this Jan, was a whole lotta fun to watch.

@heatdrive88: I love Sekiro but it's very different and you don't have to look far to find folk that like Bloodborne but really didn't like Sekiro. I'd love to see him give it a shot but it's potentially a tougher sell than the DS games or a lot of the "-likes" out there I think.

This is a great series. It's so enjoyable to see someone discover the magic of the souls-bourne games. Starting off frustrated and lost, and gradually becoming a badass that understands that dying is just part of the experience and something to learn from.

Holy crap! @janman, you made Ludwig look easy. Then again, I was using the Saw Cleaver +10 at that point. The Saw Cleaver while a solid weapon that took me through the game, attacks vertically when transformed. Ludwig took me several times solo before I was finally able to defeat him. It was a tough battle but it had great music. The wonderful thing about BB is that every weapon is viable for getting through the game. Sadly, BB never got a respec option retroactively patched to allow for experimentation between different builds. I'm currently stuck on 2 bosses in the DLC so I'm curious to see how you do against them. I want to get into BB but those bosses burned me out. I'll spoiler tag which ones for BB vets-- Orphan of Kos and Laurence. The former is incredibly aggressive thanks to its moving hit box, the latter's stun locking lava in the second phase drove me insane.

I would go back to the blood river area full of bloodlickers (AKA the bloodsucking fleas) since you missed a bunch of items. That includes two new weapons and materials so I would do that before proceeding to the next area beyond Ludwig's arena. You saw an item surrounded by that small mob of them so I would take them out one by one. Use pebbles to kite them up to the bridge then take them out as they're retreating. Otherwise, remember to take your time going through each area so you don't miss anything.

It's nice to see you come a long way from Father Gascoigne where you had no idea what you were doing through the DLC more confident. Week after week, this remains my favorite Lockdown stream I look forward to during quarantine/curfew.

There is a much better npc that can be summoned for the Ludwig fight. I think he only shows up if you have a certain rune equipped.

Also, the whirligig saw's L2 attack is different when you hold the button down. The blade keeps spinning and you are still free to walk around.

The blood river is worth exploring. There's an old friend you can meet there.

@geneyorkmorgan: Bloodborne not having a re-spec option is the only thing that keeps it from being a perfect game imo. Also don't feel to bad about those spoiler blocked bosses they are some of the hardest bosses FromSoft has put in a game. _ol

Yeah. Just always wished Jeff or some more staff pushed past the hump of these souls games cause their takes when they drop off vs when they actually finish them are the whole reason people are such fans of the series. I know the fans of niche properties turn people off cause they're so dedicated and vocal in turning people to their side. It's way harder to get into a series of people push on you than you discovering it since you have your guard up for something people scream IS SO GOOD! I think many would appreciate the dark souls1 game if they finish BB. Someone said jeff was only a boss or two from the ending too, this is the shorter side of souls games and faster so ill still hold out hope. If someone on staff could finish Sekiro- which souls lovers don't like much, then they can finish bb one day.

You were at our side all along, thunderous boss music.

Very impressive showing against Ludwig, the Very Sad Horse. The expert dodging of his huge AOE sword strikes bodes well for the later bosses.

Damn! Is it just me or is Jan high-key great at this game?

Seriously, Ludwig took me literally a week to beat when I played. Beat the last boss of the DLC on my third try, but Ludwig is a mean SOB.
