This looks rather...mediocre? I don't know, there's just something about this that makes it look really uninteresting to me.

Hopefully it will do well enough though, so Bioware can make another Mass Effect game (preferably a good one this time around).

Also who cares if Jeff likes the game? He doesn't have to and he got fairly tired of Destiny, which is a fairly similiar game, so this shouldn't even come as a surprise to anyone really.

@fonzinator: the writing team has writers from Andromeda on it as leads, namely Cathleen Roosaert and Jay Watanamiuk, so it isnt a super completely different team. But it's not very positive for whatever the story is in Anthem, Andromeda had a very weak backbone of a story and now this seems to be throwing a lot of words at the player but not doing a lot of explaining which isnt a good sign so far. Why they would throw a writing staff coming from a very poor rehashing of the Mass Effect "story" that wasnt well received into a new franchise, it's very much WTF on Bioware's side.

Anthem may improve from this vanilla iteration, but I'm sad to see BioWare chasing the GaaS dragon. I just have zero interest in this type of game.

EA is looking really smart for putting out Apex before this..... I can see Apex not being as big a hit if people saw this first, and then Apex came out shortly after.....

The prevailing opinion seems to be that Anthem is similar to Destiny 1 when it launched. That seems like a reasonable comparison. I played the public demo and honestly had a good time. Still, I'm a little concerned about the apparent lack of content. Ive heard that the story campaign takes about 9 hours to complete. Also, completing the story mission apparently does not get you up to level cap(?). The higher difficulties aren't available until you hit level 30.

Kind of on the fence on this one. You can see a framework of something cool in Anthem, but it isn't really filled out yet. A lot of it depends on how well the game will be supported in the future.

Having never played Destiny, I can't discern what I'm seeing or hearing here from Destiny.
