I need to fix my sleep schedule, being a 3am boy means I miss the live bombcast. Or usually tune in for the emails, and maaaaaybe catch aftermath.

@glok1132: Does Brad not have the ability to, or he won't unless they're in the office? I always wonder, and I'm sure they mentioned why & I missed it.

Guess I'm not the only one sleepy this week. Jeff was killing it though. But the number of times he was left hanging... He had energy, talked passionately, and then was repeatedly responded to with dead silence.

Time to bring back the energy drinks.

I don't think I can play Sims 4 without WickedWhims, it creates so much chaos on top of the normal Sims amount of chaos, and some incredibly awkward situations. But that's what I want from the Sims. Just pure untamed chaos. Throw in the Extreme Violence mod, Zombie Apocalypse mod, etc..

I feel like there would certainly be room for a more adult-oriented alternative to Twitch. Twitch's rules around stuff like nipples gets really silly and inconsistent for art streams dealing with human forms. Even Zbrush's official twitch channel runs into cases where vods of sculpting tutorials get delisted if an artist happens to have an untextured sculpt with nipples on the breasts. You could presumably stream an image of some marble sculpture that has a nipple exposed, but if you were to use that as a reference for your own drawing or sculpture, you would have to censor your work.

@mozzle: If you ask me, this always happens with the absence of Brad. I recall several instances where the entire team is assembled for Game of the Year and yet the discussion devolves to only include Jeff, Brad, and Vinny. Which is fine, because if you don't have anything to say, then you don't have anything to say. I guess that I just find it . . . disappointing?

Weird episode. Why does Brad show up for five minutes and then leaves?

For Jeff: Act 2 ends much more strongly narratively than Act 1, though the combat does not necessarily get THAT much less repetitive. You get more choices and can vary it up but they don't necessarily give you demanding reasons to do it. I ended up shifting between the three pillars (sword, bow, stealth) every so often and made my own fun a bit optimizing those different builds. You can REALLY break the game with fully fleshed out bow armor+charms (near infinite slo-mo, arrow replenishment, 1 hit headshots, etc)

Mobile Legends is a very popular MOBA that's been around for some time. I've been playing it a bit for the past few days and it's alright for what it is, which is a MOBA that usually doesn't last as long as Dota or League of Legends.

If Jeff wants expansive stance-based skill trees that give you tons of combat options - Nioh 2's out there.

@cikame: Grey Goo is an RTS. ”Grey goo” is also an existing term that just means a giant swarm/cloud of nanomachines. Both kinda known quantities in the gaming world.

But The Gunk could be anything! ANYTHING!

@therealturk: Jeff doesn’t actually want that. He doesn’t finish action games like Nioh or Bloodborne because he gives up when mashing buttons isn’t enough to move forward.

Tsushima is dull as hell. I'm enjoying the combat at least. But if that's not doing it for you, I can't imagine what would be worth hanging around for.

I have to play vermintide every gaming weekend at some point of the night, and having spent my two tours with left 4 Dead to 'conclusion' on the formulaic controlled-chaos-bum-rush, doing the same levels on repeat, but now with a loot system and combat that doesn't do it for me..I..already know I have to buy Darktide, because I value friendship with these degenerates that much. Thank ..uhh(insert warhammer diety figure) there are some guns in the next one, because, boy, first person melee combat and bows to me are just the goddamned worst and I understand why people like vermintide but to me it feels like a nicely produced if weightless mess of a legacy-property/universe themed l4d.

Ghost of Tsushima is such a great game and I can't wait to see what they do with the inevitable sequel.

Nioh 2 is incredible though, only just realised there's a DLC out, gonna play it once I finish up GoT. A damn good year for samurai shit.

The Tales of Symphonia boss example I remember personally, too. I think the funny part, if I remember right, is that if you defeat that guy another guy shows up and is entirely much stronger.

I dunno, I think it's fun to have supposed to lose fight that turn into optional challenges. In Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure there's a match with old Piccolo where you have to lose, which is true to the manga. And he's easily the fastest and strongest opponent in the game, your HP is down, you die after like one combo, if you knock him down he afterimages behind you with an attack.

However, coming back after being more skilled at the game feels really rewarding, since you can beat it without him touching you once. I remember enjoying going back after beating the game and dancing on this dude that gave me trouble. That's the fun part of supposed to lose-bosses. I think it's fine as long as losing happens very quickly if you're not very good.

Don't think I'll play any of the new Xbox games even though they are coming to Steam, so can't see myself paying for a new Console with their offering. Would def. buy a lot of the PS5 games though, so that is a possibility.

For my entire childhood and continuing up until 6 years ago, my bathroom was completely carpeted. At that time 6 years ago, we were having some work done on our bathroom, and my mom decided to finally get rid of the carpet. I assumed it was going to be this big process... but it was literally just a carpet that was cut so it sat perfectly in the room's space. It was not affixed to the ground in any way. My grandmother had done that decades ago for some reason. There was a tile floor underneath. I was like that scene in The Office where Oscar discovers hardwood under the carpet... "THERE WAS TILE HERE THE WHOLE TIME?!" My mom even knew this was the case (both that the carpet was not affixed, and the tile underneath). I was livid that she never said anything or decided to get rid of it much sooner.

Final Fantasy 8 and Kingdom Hearts have some great 'you are expected to lose this, but you can actually win!' moments.

I played through Halo CE on legendary again very recently in the MCC and was disappointed. I did not expect to come back to a game I loved to find that I no longer enjoy it. The game feels soooo rough compared to the other Halo titles, I really wish I liked it more. I still appreciate the atmosphere, that was my favorite part of the game.
