Abby is the hottest! Plus GBE is the best! Love all the content you all develop.

Kind of a weak playdate but they can't all be winners. GBE is still rockin' it.

Overwatch was always good... it just has a big valley of enjoyment in between "everyone here is drunk and not cooperating" and "this is quickplay being taken more seriously than a tournament match".

Access to large pickup discords of people that, good or bad at the game, aren't d-bags? That made that game last 4x as long for me. Mostly we would play quickplay in 6-stacks, for near competitive levels of tryhard without the same vitriol or teamblaming.

That and giving up on "I only like so many chars", and playing a minimum of 5 hours on every character. It takes longer than you'd like, but the flexibility makes the difference on wanting to quit the entire game or not because your three best dudes aren't great and the other 6 you play, you aren't great at. That's a commitment though.

FWIW, not going to apologize for their balance team being 3x as long to adjust and still having a habit of making things unfun. New characters too, they just flat don't care if a hero is never a fun challenge to play against. "Deal with it, while we take a year to figure out how to fix it. Poorly.".

Really enjoyed this playdate, always appreciate seeing Overwatch on GB too. It has its problems but I still prefer it to battle royale games.

Splatoon 2 has somehow become one of my favorite games. Cool to see the crew playing it.

Weirds me out that Alex likes Splatoon but never plays Ranked. Turf War's like a warm-up or ramp to the real thing - you have to level in Turf before you can join Ranked. Either way it's all good, but I think Alex should give some of the Ranked games a try - it's really fun and a lot of the games depth starts to shine.

In re: Overwatch

If you refuse to use or engage with voice chat, kinda hard to expect great teamwork in a teamwork-based game. That generally requires communication. Any community is going to have some toxicity but I found Overwatch chat to be a lot better than most, especially on PC. I recommend either finding a group or not bothering with ranked. It seems like I almost always lose ranked when I get matched with people that don't communicate.

Also, Arcade mode has a pretty much permanent mode that respawns you as a random hero each time you die. I put about 30-40~ hours into that mode last year and it helped me get much better at a wider variety of heroes, and at least better understand the heroes I still don't like.

I should have never downloaded the trial for Splatoon 2... Now I want to keep playing but don't have the money. It rules!

I think Abby's fantastic, but I cannot stand that she continues to confuse spearmint and peppermint. They're two totally separate types of mint! You don't put spearmint into cookies or chocolate, that's just gross. Peppermint in chocolate on the other hand is delicious! Spearmint is what they most often put in gum or toothpaste.

As someone who changed their account name on their Switch specifically because it said "Daddy" while playing Splatoon, I agree that it's most likely a parent account (like mine).
