Not really, I want the next endurance run to be something crazy
Shenmue
Game » consists of 5 releases. Released Dec 29, 1999
An action-adventure game set in 1980s Japan that follows one young man's journey to avenge his father's murder. It was praised for its ambitious scope and pioneered several gameplay features such as realistic open-world environments and Quick Time Events.
Would you like to see Shenmue as an Endurance Run?
I've played both Shemues and love them immensely. But I understand it's a very acquired taste. Though I'd love a Shenmue endurance run but most people would be bored the hell out of it.
I have a soff spot for both games, but the idea gets a firm no from me. It's way too short and there would be very little interest to viewers apart from the terrible voice acting.
I doubt they'd last very long playing it. Heck, trying to watch a playthrough of Shenmue is slow and boring, it's much more fun when you're playing it...and if you already liked the gameplay Shenmue brings, which isn't for everyone.
" I'm really interested in Shenmue, but I doubt I'll have the chance to play through it myself. I vote yes simply because it would allow me the opportunity to see the game in action from start to hopefully the finish. "Shenmue Dojo has a series of Youtube uploads..
I doubt Shenmue would make for good ED material. however, I do hope to play it myself sometime soon.
No. The reason P4 works is because it's a game with comedic elements, not to mention it is new enough to be bearable. Shenmue was boring, I could barely watch 20 minutes of it.

Funny that, I haven't been able to watch 20 mins of the P4 Endurance Run for the same reason - it's mind numbingly dull.
I find it shocking that so many have spent hour upon hour of their lives watching it. I start watching and switch off within 5 miniutes. I hate the monotonous tone of the team and all the vocal mannerism. It's simply not funny.
...
" It wouldn't last very long either, not much "endurance" needed. "I think we should make Brad play it. Now that would show endurance since he seemed to dislike the pacing so much.
I saw an ER of it already (or Let's Play as they call 'em on YouTube). It was interesting but I don't think it could really work. Persona was good since it had all these weird stuff in it whereas Shenmue is more realistic.
Shenmue wouldn't work because EVERYONE knows about it and many many people have played it. After their break, I think that if they choose to do another one, it would be something that they are itching to play, but has had little to no hype surrounding it.
Shenmue II might be more interesting. It has more action, better translation, and there are several instances the game only gives you one chance to do and then moves on whether you pass or fail.
The first one is summed up with the "Shenmue movie" although it does no justice to the experience.
I think it'd be fun. I have alot of good memories of Shenmue ii, so It'd be awesome seeing the guys play through the first one. I can see the endless amount of awkward dialogue and menial tasks being a perfect fit for an endurance run.
