@jiggajoe14: I'm currently at Mibu Village and not especially loving this area, is the Fountianhead coming up soon? Getting some Valley of Dispair vibes here.
Ashina Castle is what I wanted Anor Londo to be back in the day. This whole big fortified castle that you can actually explore and engage with, as opposed to the mostly linear Anor Londo. That's my favorite for gameplay, but I really like the aesthetics of the Senpou Temple. It's gorgeous.
Aesthetically, Fountainhead is just gorgeous but I sorta hated progressing through parts of it so I went for Senpou for the ideal mix of beauty and fun imo.
Ashina Castle is probably my favourite area, though I liked a lot of the areas in this game. Senpuo Palace probably my second pick. Fountainhead is gorgeous but the gameplay in it was meh. I don't really like the Depths or Mibu Village areas (I mean, they were fine). Hirata Estate was neat although felt a little enclosed/linear compared to other sections.
Entering Fountainhead was astonishing, between the sights and music. Lots of stuff to uncover in that area, too. It took Sekiro into full on mystical territory and ends with one of the most striking set piece bosses From has ever done.
Senpuo had an awesome, creepy vibe and was fun to run around in.
Fountainhead in a walk. I just loved everything about the aesthetic and the level design itself. Everything about the game really clicked for me there, and the gimmick fight was a lot of fun after some of the more difficult bosses.
Mibu village would be my second favorite because of the lore aspects and the O'rin fight. Probably my favorite boss in the game.
