Tonight, I plan to pick up either Resident Evil 5 or Left 4 Dead 2 and do some offline coop zombie killing with a friend.  I tried the RE 5 Demo solo and stopped halfway through because the zombies moved really slow and the controls felt weird.  So is the demo an accurate representation of the whole game?

If the rest of the game is a series of rooms or alleys where zombies slowly shuffle toward me so I can stand there and shoot them, then I will probably just go with L4D2.

More or less the demo is a pretty good indication of what to expect from the game.

Yeah you can expect alot of what you expect from the demo, in the full game. Well except nearing the end when the laughably awful cover system comes into play...just got to experience hat atrocity yourself..

It is, almost. RE5 was an easy S-rank for me. Enemies are laughably weak, and the hardest difficulty is reasonably easy if you stay with your partner.

The game changes once you begin fighting the classic RE enemies later, but I don't recall a significant departure from the early game. Other than the laughable cover system mentioned already.

TC, by the way, get L4D2. Although I much prefer L4D1. Own both, but L4D2 is much more confusing in level design.

If you didn't like the demo, go with L4D2.  The game does get more intense with the combat and gets a lot more fun when you get infinite ammo weapons, but if you want fast paced zombie shootin' to play offline co-op in, get L4D2.

Hurm.... I think both are neck and neck.

RE5 gives you a more varied experience, not afraid to go in weird directions. The enemies might be slower, but that doesn't mean the game won't be a challenge.

L4D2 is good but you'll find the overall experience very similar throughout the game.

As a co-op experience I found RE5 much more compelling.

i would suggest playing all the way thru the RE5 demo first before dismissing it. i say that because near the end you get trapped in a house and are swarmed by zombies and have a little boss fight. so long as you can deal with the controls RE5 is not a bad game at all.

RE5 is quite an underwhelming game (but not nearly as bad as other recent RE output--don't let my avatar fool you), but it's better than Left 4 Dead 2.

    RE5.
Just go and watch Brad's video review.

Plus the latest add on is very good, or if you get the gold edition, i think that its included in there.
