All reviewsWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine2011
2 out of 5 starsWhen I first booted Warhammer 40k: Space Marine up I was really excited. I've avoided all media coverage on it, so I could dive into it completely fresh. The Warhammer universe and lore has always been fascinating to me, but this game is not a great representation of the depth of that universe. Also, the combat painfully reminds me of the Dynasty Warriors series. I'm not saying it's a bad game, but it's also not a…
Batman: Arkham City2011
5 out of 5 starsBatman Arkham City is a game of refinement not innovation. Batman Arkham City is the sequel to Rocksteady Studios' Batman Arkham Asylum. In many people's mind Arkham Asylum was the 2009 game of the year, so naturally, expectations were high coming into this game. Rocksteady definitely made another great game, but don't look for something new. Arkham city keeps all the same aesthetic you would want in a current…
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron2011
4 out of 5 starsIn some ways El Shaddi is unlike any game I've ever played, but in other ways it is also a clone of some of the most popular game franchises out there today. There is nothing wrong with El Shaddi, but other than the art style there is nothing to get really excited about either. After a lot of deliberation 4 out of 5 stars felt like the right score for the game. The story is okay, the price seems a little high at 60…
Bastion2011
5 out of 5 starsBastion defines what is remarkable about Xbox Live Arcade. Bastion's seven to ten hour experience feels like a steal at fifteen dollars. The story, art style, and fast paced action stand out as some the best this year, regardless of size or platform. It has redefined narration in video games. In the world of Bastion a terrible event known as the Calamity has destroyed the world of Caelondia. You'll play as a silent…
