Video Game Consoles: I've owned during my lifetime.
I decided to make a list naming all the Consoles I've owned over the years.
I decided to make a list naming all the Consoles I've owned over the years.
The first console I've owned, unfortunately it broke before I could actually play it when I was a child
The console that got me into video games. I still have fond memories of my NES and all the great games I've played. From Zelda, Super Mario Brothers, to Mike Tyson's Punchout and Double Dragon. These are a few of the great games you can play.
Third major console I owned. I really wanted to like the TurboGrafx-16 and probably would have, because the system had some great games. Unfortunately, the system broke the first months I've played. I even got another one and that one broke as well. I believe the real reason the system didn't do well is because of the cheap hardware, not the games.
The fourth major console I owned. And like the NES, I loved the SNES. Great games, great memories. When I first played Super Mario World, which came with the console, I knew the system was going to be successful.
While others were whining about which 16-bit console was better during the wars, I got to have the full experience, by having both consoles during my teen years. I got the best of both worlds, meaning Mario and Sonic, and everything in-between.
A good friend of mine actually gave this console to me back during my youth when he got tired of it. I got to see what the big deal was, but after experiencing the NES and the consoles afterwards, the Atari 2600 was mostly before my time.
I owned this console, because I thought it would be a great add-on to my beloved Genesis. Sadly, it turned out to be a waste of money, even though I did play some good games like Knuckles Chaotix. They need to make an update of that game.
This was my first 32-bit console, back when they first came out. I had high hopes for the Sega Saturn, because I was a fan of the developers. Sadly, thanks to marketing power, and buying up all the third party developers, Sony's 32-bit console buried the Saturn. Saturn technology being hard to developer for was also a problem for the console.
After the Saturn failed, I settled for the only dominated 32-bit console, the Sony Playstation. Not to say it was regretful. The Sony Playstation was a great console was some of the greatest games of all time. Third party development made the Playstation the system of choice.
When it came time to chose the next set of consoles, choosing the Playstation 2 was a no-brainier. I enjoyed the original Playstation, and with Sony's buying power, I knew the system would be a success. Turns out I was right, as the Sega Dreamcast would also crash and burn. Like the Playstation, the Playstation 2 was a great classic console, that people still play today.
