Hey friends! We've been working on a lot of pretty exciting new features for the site lately, and they're just about ready. We'll be talking in more detail about them on this week's Bombcast. One of those features is a super-rad new section for user-submitted guides/FAQs. The guys upstairs have really been banging out some amazing new stuff that I think will take this style of content to new heights. But of course, it's hard to launch a section like this without any submissions to kick it off. That's where you come in. I'll let Snide's post in the forums tell the rest of the story...
Hey all -
We're nearing completion on a big code push to the website that will add guide/faq creation on Giant Bomb. The tools are pretty kickass and I think we're doing some nifty stuff to evolve game guide and faq creation on the web.
We only have one problem... we don't have any user created guides to test with.
If you happen to enjoy writing guides and the like for games and don't mind having your guide on Giant Bomb on day 1, would you please send me an email at [email protected]. We plan on supporting guides with Creative Commons license types and I can say up front that we in no way ask or assume control of the guides you add to the site. I'm pretty certain we'll have the most user-friendly and supportive guidelines regarding content ownership of guides (you, not us, like some sites) so don't worry if you don't like how our guide section turns out, you can always remove your content.
Peeps who help out will get to have personal feedback and response with the engineering team and get to decide what new features we build in the next few weeks.
In your email please send the following:
- Your Giant Bomb username
- A txt version of your guide
- Your suggestions on how to build a better guide/faq system.
Note that I'll be checking against your email to make sure that you didn't steal.
