Dead Space Team Goes to Hell

He's not even supposed to be here today.
Some things just naturally translate to games. Take Dante's Inferno, for example. It's a twisted tale that gave rise to our modern definition of Hell. You know, demons, fire, that whole thing. On top of that, the tale has Dante traveling through nine circles of Hell, each with its own name. Boom, level concepts are finished.

So it's relatively kick-ass that EA's Redwood Shores studio--specifically, some portion of the people who worked on Dead Space--are now hard at work on bringing this vision of Hell to life in a third-person action adventure. EA officially debuted the game last night at the Spike TV 2008 Video Game Awards, and has since followed that up with a relatively information-free press release and a hot-looking trailer that can be found over at the game's official site.

No platforms have been announced, but it seems safe to assume that it'll hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2009.
