Naminé

"I always thought Nobodies were doomed to fade back into darkness."

Overview

Naminé is a special Nobody, born when Kairi's heart left Sora's body. At the beginning of Kingdom Hearts when the Destiny Islands were engulfed by darkness, Kairi's heart hid in Sora's body instead of becoming a Heartless, as she had no darkness in her heart. So when Sora later impaled himself with Riku's  Keyblade in Hollow Bastion to save Kairi, he released both his own and Kairi's heart, turning himself into a Heartless and creating his Nobody counterpart Roxas, but also creating Kairi's Nobody counterpart Naminé. Due to Naminé's close connection with Sora, she is able to change his memories and the memories of those close to him.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories

Naminé makes her first appearance in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, where the Organization holds her captive and uses her to change Sora and his friends' memories. Her job was to make Sora think it was actually Naminé that lived on Destiny Islands instead of Kairi, as this is beneficial to the Organization. However, as she almosts succeeds in doing so, she is left alone for a while, and manages to tell Sora the entire story of what she has been doing. Soon after that, however, Marluxia recaptures Naminé and forces her to erase Sora's memories by threatening to kill her if she doesn't. Sora then orders Naminé to erase his memories, as he promised her he would protect her, even though he already knows this promise was actually made with Kairi. Naminé then erases his memories, and Sora goes on to fight Marluxia and defeats him. Afterwards, Naminé puts Sora and his friends in a white pod where they will have to sleep for a year to regain all their memories.

Kingdom Hearts II

Namine makes her first appearance in Kingdom hearts II when she freezes time in order to talk with Roxas for a short period of time. All she tells Roxas is who she is and that she has been looking for him. When Roxas goes to talk with Seifer he is confronted by nobodies and during the battle, when using a toy sword doesn't work, Namine tells him to use the Keyblade to fight the nobodies. After you beat the giant nobody she then helps you out of the darkness. Namine doesn't make an appearance until you go to the "World that never was". She goes there with Riku, who looks like Xemnas's heartless, to save Kairi from  Organization XIII's stronghold. She then goes away for a while and then merges with Kairi in order for them to become whole again.
